Additional updates as necessary To support our goal of getting working features to customers faster, we may deliver a release outside of the monthly cycle to provide new, low-risk functionality and/or essential issue fixes.

Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows.


  • Features that are ready will enter GA status in the first month's release of each calendar quarter: January, April, July, October. There will be an occasional variance from this schedule. You can enter a support request to move a beta feature into your production environment.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket (some beta features not initially available in production, Planview will advise). Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle. 
  • Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned releases/updates. These alerts include the date and time window of the update, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the update/release.   • We hold a live product release webinar - typically on the Wednesday before the production release. This webinar will be hosted by PPM Pro product management and consulting personnel, and will include time for Q&A. Click here to register for the August 19th release webinar.   • Inner circles are offered as a way for our interested customers to collaborate with PPM Pro Product Management and each other, provide feedback on PPM Pro product capabilities, and guide new feature development. Click here for more information or to register.

Dashboards Revamp

Current functionality (rolling beta):

  • Dashboards grid from where you can New/Edit/Run dashboard
  • Content tab (Title, Description, Available Reports) with ability to drag and drop or click “Add” button to add a report to the dashboard
  • Scope tab with ability to specify what entity dashboard grids the dashboard shows up on
  • Preview - able to move reports around, resize, and Remove
  • Variable properties on report components to adjust filters

Financial Summary

Current functionality (Rolling beta)

  • Create from project template
  • Create and configure summary fields and data streams in Organization/Finances/Financial Summary Components
    • Select allowed data streams (budget, forecast, actuals)
    • Build summary fields
  • Add Financial Summary section to project categories in SSA 
  • Create summary in Project/Financial/ Summary view where users can:
    • Show/hide data streams
    • Create/edit the structure
    • Edit manually entered values

Function Area LeanKit Card Release Note
Filters 1190682984 Fixed. To prevent users from building filters based on meta data from multi-value fields in one-to-many or many-to-many relationships, the "Filterable" setting will no longer be available for multi-value fields when configuring them in SSA. As a result, the fields will not be offered as filter criteria when building filters. Previously, users could physically build the filter, but technically it never produced expected results and can not be supported.
Projects 1190565207 Fixed. When the multi-currency feature is enabled, the Currency field appears on the first page of the New Project Wizard when creating a new project and copying from a template, regardless of the order in which the user configures the fields. Previously an issue prevented the Currency field from displaying in the New Project Wizard if the user first chose the template and let the Category value default in.
Projects 1190641873 Fixed. Bulk editing a project, and running project entity level reports work as expected, even when the Project ID field is hidden in SSA/Available Fields. Previously, if the Project ID was hidden, the bulk editor would not load and the project level reports returned no data.
Projects 1190642126 Fixed. The subject line of project team email notifications is formatted correctly. Previously, an issue caused the characters "  " to appear in the email subject line, just before the project name.
Requests 1189991671 Fixed. Requests can be associated with other entities regardless of whether or not gates are configured in the request category. Previously, an issue was preventing associations between gateless requests and other entities.


Fixed. The scoring profile for a request category can be changed at any time, even when there are requests in progress or already approved.
Spreadsheet-Style Editor (Tasks) 1190803651 Fixed. When editing tasks in the spreadsheet-style editor, you can apply a Complete Date to a task and the date will persist (save, close editor, return to editor, etc. and the date remains unchanged). Previously, after entering a Complete Date, saving and reopening the editor, an issue caused the editor to revert the date back to the project's Schedule From date.
Tasks 1190611527 Fixed. Including the task Description field (or other text box field) in the Bulk Editor when editing tasks works as expected. Previously, if a text box field was included in the editor the grid did not display correctly.
Tasks 1199306589 Fixed. Tasks with the constraint As Late As Possible (ALAP) work as expected. Previously, an issue prevented the system from honoring the predecessor dates and resulted in a scheduling conflict.
