Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows.

Reminders

  • Defect fixes and occasional beta features are delivered weekly; most beta features and GA features (when ready) are delivered monthly.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket (some beta features not initially available in production, Planview will advise). Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle. 
  • Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned and non-planned releases/updates/incidents. These alerts include the date and time window of the releases/updates/incident, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the releases/updates/incident. To subscribe to these alerts, please go to https://status.planview.com/ and click the Subscribe button.
  • Inner circles are offered as a way for our interested customers to collaborate with PPM Pro Product Management and each other, provide feedback on PPM Pro product capabilities, and guide new feature development. Click here for more information or to register.

           

Action Required

In preparation for the switch to the new notification service, please ask your internal IT helpdesk to safelist these domains: @pvnotifications.com or *pvnotifications.com. Safelisting both domains ensures that your notifications will not be blocked by your email spam blockers when the new notification services is launched.

           

           

Action Required

Starting with the February 2023 release, PPM Pro will stop accepting requests that use a direct server endpoint in WSAPI endpoints in order to ensure data integrity. This change affects customers doing custom WSAPI integrations that are not managed by Planview.

Please verify that your integration is using one of the following endpoints to ensure your integration is not interrupted (be sure to replace "myCompany" with your DNS subdomain name):

Note that sandboxes and production environments will have different subdomains (e.g. mycompany.ppmpro.com and mycompany-sb.ppmpro.com).

No change is required if your integration was custom built by Planview or is being managed by Planview.

           

           

 

Starting in January 2023, the option to Import/Export from MSP will be renamed to Import/Export from XML. We encourage users that need to import data from Microsoft Project to import XML files instead of MSP files. Doing so will prevent issues that can arise from differences between MSP files from the online and desktop versions of Microsoft Project.

PPMPro-ProjectPlace V2 integration will allow for either PPM Pro or ProjectPlace to take ownership of the Plan and WBS in a Project/Workspace.

February 10 Reports 1874584121 Fixed. In some cases, updates to project data were not being reflected in reports and dashboards. We resolved this issue and project data in all reports and dashboards is up to date.
January 27 Resources 1860728003 Fixed. In locale settings that use a comma as a decimal separator, values for the FTE Hours Per Day setting were not being saved correctly. This no longer happens and the setting correctly saves values regardless of the decimal separator used.

Improved. The following changes were made to our German translations to improve consistency in the terminology we use:

  • The project Staffing screen and Staffing in general is now referred to as "Personalausstattung."
  • The verb "staff" is now translated to "ausstatten" or "Mit Personal ausstatten."
  • The status labels "Staffed" and "Unstaffed" are now "Ausgestattet" and "Nicht ausgestattet."
  • A Staffing Request (or Staff Request) remains "Personalanfrage", but a Staffing Assignment is now referred to as "Personalzuweisung".
January 20 ProjectPlace Integration V2 1857781954 Fixed. For users with an integration with ProjectPlace, links from ProjectPlace to PPM Pro timesheets were not working. Now, users can navigate their PPM Pro timesheet from time links in ProjectPlace.
January 20 Resources 1856956949 Fixed. Names in the Resource Unit Manager field now displays as Last Name, First Name. This makes the field now match the other name formats used in Resource fields on the Resource Info.

Fixed. Roles on allocations cannot be changed if the allocations have time entries associated with them. To prevent further user errors, we added a message that appears when user attempt to change roles: "The Role cannot be changed because one or more timesheet entries exist for this Allocation and it has Task schedules."

Reports 1734684369 Fixed. When running Portfolio reports, associations were not showing if a project was associated to more than one portfolio. Now, project associations now display correctly.

Fixed. In Project Gantt reports, there were certain cases where the Portfolio Title would be improperly indented on the report output.  This has been fixed.

ProjectPlace Integration V2 1826787521 New. In PPM Pro - ProjectPlace integrations, archived workspaces in ProjectPlace retain their link to projects in PPM Pro.

ProjectPlace Integration V2 1849229797 Fixed. Previously, in projects where PPM Pro controls the WBS, users could create tasks with the PP Card category, which caused issues within the task plan. Now, users cannot create tasks using that category.

Reports 1808722862 Fixed. When exporting Trend reports to Excel, an error was thrown if the report showed color values on changes.  This no longer happens.

Card Views 1839213395

Improved. In card views, some column names are truncated if they are too large.  To allow users to see the whole name, we added a tooltip that appears on hover.
