August 20 (production)

MSP Import 1599469885

Improved. When importing a task with children that have dates from MSP, PPM Pro will automatically set the task to be automatically scheduled so that the parent task will inherit the earliest start date and the latest target date of its children. This is consistent with how the UI behaves.

August 20 (production) Reports 1600239563 Fixed. The appropriate (Time Series) fields are available and function as expected for the Finance Entry topic/Time Series Specialty.
August 20 (production) Reports 1601603572

Fixed. Stakeholder users do not need to be a member of any group in to be able to see report data such as Hours, FTE, Percent or Gap returned by Resource Specialty time series reports. Full users do need to be in the Internal Costs standard group to see any cost field such as Actual Cost, Allocation Cost, Scheduled Cost and Estimated Cost. August 20 (production) Reports 1600228167 Fixed. Project Owners can view Task Schedule time series report data regardless of whether they are a member of the Internal Costs standard group. Previously, an issue required the project owner to be a member of the Internal Costs group to see Task Schedule data in a time series report.

August 20 (production)

New. Ability to filter on fields that can be aggregated (also referred to as "field-level filters"). This allows customers to configure the exact breakdown of data they want to retrieve by allowing users to apply a filter to the same field in different ways in one report. This essentially allows "splitting data" much like you can do today with the filters "Staffed/Unstaffed", "Capitalized/Uncapitalized", but you are not limited to the filters we provide.

For example, imagine a task report that returns all task schedules - now you can add the task schedule to the report multiple times, each time filtering on a different role (previously you could only return all task schedules).

August 20 (production)

Reports 1578824554

New. The Show Zero Values setting on the Display tab for crosstab reports has a new option called "Do not include in the report". The setting allows you to hide rows that have values of zero in every cell within timeframe specified of the report.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1579840577

Improved. To make editing of field Display Names easier, within the Field Options modal the original field title is now displayed as the default and can be edited, rather than having to always type in a fresh title. Currently when you click in the field, the field is empty/no original title is displayed.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1594624646

New. Display Data As options are now available for health color fields (supported colors red, yellow, green) and calculated string fields that are displayed as strings (supported colors red, green, yellow, blue, orange, amber, aqua, cyan).

For example, if a calculated string field results in a string that matches one of the supported colors, applying one of the Display Data As options will result in the color that reflects the string value.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1586809806

Improved. The ability to sort the Selected Fields in the Field Options dialog has been removed as it was confusing. Instead, use the Sorting section in the Display tab of the report definition.

August 20 (production)

Fixed. You can now filter Timesheet Entry reports by Portfolio Title. Previously, an issue caused the filter to return no data, even if there was a valid match.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1590384101

Fixed. Project owners (regardless of whether they can approve or not) can see all time logged against their projects, as expected. Previously, timesheet entry reports returned timesheet entries logged by the project owner, and did not include other users' timesheet data when the project owner was not included in the approval process.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1588849396

Fixed. When a report is exported to PDF, any hyperlinks on the report are not visible (and thus inactive). Previously, an issue caused the links to be visible, which made users think they were clickable, and frustration ensued.

August 20 (production)

August 20 (production)

Fixed. In Attachment reports, the field Attached Entity ID is rendered without any formatting, such as commas, as expected. Previously, an issue caused the attached entity IDs to be rendered with commas.

August 20 (production)

Reports 1587975972

Fixed. Creating and running a pie chart based on the Staffing Request topic works as expected. Previously, an issue prevented this report from rendering.

August 20 (production)

Reports, Requests

New. Reporting metrics on the gate history and the request lifecycle. New report fields retrieve data such as that captured in the Activity Log. Includes the ability to report on Request data such as:

  • when a request was submitted/entered each gate
  • when a request was approved to move to the next gate
  • how long each request stayed in each gate
  • requests days to closure and days to conversion/approval
  • the requests that I was an approver for
  • how much time does a specific approver generally take to deal with a request at a gate
  • approved requests, including approver(s) and date/time of gate action (approval/rejection/send back to prior gate/place on hold/place back in progress)

August 20 (production)

Requests 1585355714 New. There can now be a maximum of 8 fields on a request card. Previously the limit was 6.

August 20 (production)

Resources, Permissions 1589388378

Fixed. The All Users standard group has been renamed All Resources/Users because it contains both resources and users. You can apply a filter to derive the results you need.

Background: Groups were initially used for applying permissions to users. Later, the ability to have non-user resources in groups was added to accommodate additional use cases involving groups. So the group became hybrid, but the name of the group did not. We have updated the name of the group to match its contents.

August 20 (production)

Task Schedules 1602367095

New. Ability to show the task Scheduling tab to permitted users only. A new permission called "Task Schedules" has been added to the Project > View permissions tree. Permission profiles that include Project > View > Tasks and Project > View > Task Schedules permissions will allow permitted users to view the task Scheduling tab. To edit the Scheduling tab you must have Project > Edit > Task permission and Project > View > Task Schedules. Currently, the task Schedules tab is visible to all users who can view tasks.

With this release, those users will still see the Scheduling tab for any tasks they have permission to see. You will need to adjust the permission profiles to remove View permission for the appropriate users.

August 20 (production)

  • can be added to relevant standard groups (Internal Costs, Organization)
  • ability to create reports
  • ability to drill down from permitted reports and dashboards
