  • Defect fixes and occasional beta features are delivered weekly; most beta features and GA features (when ready) are delivered monthly.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket (some beta features not initially available in production, Planview will advise). Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle.
  • Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned and non-planned releases/updates/incidents. These alerts include the date and time window of the releases/updates/incident, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the releases/updates/incident. To subscribe to these alerts, please go to https://status.planview.com/ and click the Subscribe button.
  • We typically hold a live product release webinar on the Wednesday before the production release. This webinar will be hosted by PPM Pro product management and consulting personnel, and will include time for Q&A. Click here to register for the April 14th release webinar. Also, remember you can sign up for any/all upcoming customer webinars here.
  • Inner circles are offered as a way for our interested customers to collaborate with PPM Pro Product Management and each other, provide feedback on PPM Pro product capabilities, and guide new feature development. Click here for more information or to register.

Release Notes - Sorted by Release Date

Release Date Function Area LeanKit card Release Note Description
Targeted for June 11 Reports (Beta) 1579446235

Fixed. After configuring reports that include resource unit data, correct results are returned as expected. Previously, an issue caused some of the data in the preview pane to display on the report.

Targeted for June 4 Data Import

Fixed. Data import will no longer clear resource UDFs if the import fails. Previously, an issue caused resource UDFs to be cleared from the UI upon import failure, even though the data still existed in the database.

Targeted for June 4 Financial Entries 1569787945

Fixed. The value displayed in the Variance Total column is correct, as expected. Previously, an issue caused an incorrect total to display if more than one actual was entered.

May 28 WS API 1573965642

Fixed. API calls can only be made by WS API users when using Basic Authentication or when using inline token authentication.

May 21 Requests, Calc Fields 1563833820

Fixed. The request Pending Approvers field can be used successfully in a calculated field, as expected. Previously, an issue caused the calculated field to return Null.

May 21

Staffing 1565918977

Fixed. (Managed Staffing) When configuring a Designated Staffer as a member of a Unit or Group, the labels display as expected. Previously, an issue cause the unit/group ID to display instead of the label value.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Financial Entries 1561649575

New. Custom numeric fields (except for %) that are placed on the financial entries grid will be summed and the total value will appear at the top of the grid, just like Actuals and Forecasts. This includes calculated fields.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Lookup Lists 1553134266

Fixed. When creating a new lookup list value and selecting "New List Value Below", the value is created below the selected item, as expected. Previously, an issue caused the system to create the item at the end of the list, requiring the user to manual reposition it. Now the system does what it's told!

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

PPA 1562072300

Fixed. On Scorecard output grid, the correct column labels are displayed as expected. Previously, an issue caused the system to display the wrong value.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Project Staffing 1555368273

New. (Managed Staffing only) When editing an existing allocation that is in a New or Requested status, you now have the option to Save (leaving Status = New) or Save & Staff, which changes the allocation status to Staffed. This enhancement is a followup to the original enhancement that was released in April that provided the initial ability to Save & Staff an allocation inline that was created from the "Quick Staff" icon.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Reports  1556072877 Fixed. Can filter by Summary Task: Actual Cost, as expected.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

UI, Local Settings

New. In the NEXT release, probably in June (target date) we plan introduce an enhancement that allows the user to clear local settings globally (across the application, as is the current behavior), or limit to the entity the user is currently viewing, such as project or portfolio. As a first step toward implementing the enhancement described above, we are moving "Clear Local Settings" from the menu on the Resource Info page to the drop-down menu next to the logged-in user icon in the global toolbar.

The menu item is renamed "Reset to Default Settings", and there is a confirmation prompt that explains the effect of taking this action.

Be assured that the current behavior has not yet changed - that is coming in a subsequent release (probably June).

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Resource Workbench, UI 1534264311

Fixed. Clicking the Close button after printing the Resource Workbench screen renders the workbench view correctly, as expected. Previously, after clicking Close the allocation details (lower) section floated on top of the resource list (upper) section.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

SSA 1508370040

Fixed. Field restrictions can be configured as expected. Previously, an issue was causing all fields with field restrictions to have a default value, event if the field was not required.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

SSA

1520360544

1558803500

1504923837

Fixed. There are certain fields that are required by the PPM Pro system, such as project Owner, portfolio Owner, and Requester. We have made some changes that clarify to the user that if they do not configure a default value, then the system will supply a value - namely, the label "system default" will appear in the field, indicating that the system will use the current user as the default value. Previously, there were several related problems, including if the user entered a default value and then tried to remove it (and use the system default), the system still required an explicit value. Trust me, everything gonna be all right.

May 14 (sandbox)

May 21 (production)

Staffing 1566285899 Fixed. (Managed Staffing) After proposing a resource on the project Staffing screen to fill a staffing request, the proposed resource can subsequently be edited/changed on Home-> Resources, as expected. Previously, an issue caused the system to throw an error when users tried to update a proposed resource in Home/Resources.
