Release Schedule

Additional updates as necessary To support our goal of getting working features to customers faster, we may deliver a release outside of the monthly cycle to provide new, low-risk functionality and/or essential issue fixes.

Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows.

Reminders

  • Features that are ready will enter GA status in the first month's release of each calendar quarter: January, April, July, October. There will be an occasional variance from this schedule. You can enter a support request to move a beta feature into your production environment.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket (some beta features not initially available in production, Planview will advise). Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle. 
  • Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned and non-planned releases/updates/incidents. These alerts include the date and time window of the releases/updates/incident, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the releases/updates/incident. To subscribe to these alerts, please go to https://status.planview.com/ and click the Subscribe button.
  • We typically hold a live product release webinar on the Wednesday before the production release. This webinar will be hosted by PPM Pro product management and consulting personnel, and will include time for Q&A. Click here to register for the April 14th release webinar.   • Inner circles are offered as a way for our interested customers to collaborate with PPM Pro Product Management and each other, provide feedback on PPM Pro product capabilities, and guide new feature development. Click here for more information or to register.

Release Notes

Function Area LeanKit card Release Note Description
Attachments 1550803498 Fixed. The 'Select Recipients' modal that appears after clicking the 'Pick' button when emailing an attachment now has Users populated. Previously selecting 'Pick' resulted in a blank modal.
Data Import 1526510085

Fixed. When using the data import facility to update an entity, if the system hits an invalid record, the update will abort and a message will inform the user. Previously, if an invalid record was hit, the system implied the update was successful even though the records had not been updated. 

Filters 1535123316

Fixed. Now adding a filter to a filtered list in SSA gives expected results.

 
Filters, UDFs 1546202626 New. Filters can be applied to multi-select UDFs. For example, if you create a new multi-select list that has list to use 'Select: All Resources', when creating or editing this field you can optionally apply a filter to limit what resources show up in the list.
Managed Staffing 1521676071

Improved. (Managed Staffing enabled and user has Staff Directly permission) When staffing directly by way of the "quick staff" button on the project Staffing screen, you now have the option of saving the allocation with a status of "New" (click the Save button) or saving the allocation with a status of "Staffed" (click the Save and Staff button). This additional flexibility accommodates organizations' different staffing processes. 

Projects 1524728106

Fixed. When creating a project from a template, including/excluding the  project calendar element now works as expected - if you include the project calendar in the copy, that is the calendar that will be used in the target project. Previously, if you included the project calendar element when creating a project from a template, the system allowed you to select a different calendar in the template project during the copy, but ultimately used the original calendar from the template project, making it appear that there was a bug. We have enough real bugs in our product, we don't need imposters. 

Requests 1547957472

Fixed. Creating request reminder notification messages works as expected. Previously, in certain situations the reminder notification text area in the rich text editor disappeared, only to be found after refreshing or re-entering the editor. S'all good now. 

Requests 1541585399 Fixed. You can now change the category on a request that has no gates. Previously an issue kept the user from being able to change category.
SSA 1540925145 Fixed. Creating a field restriction for the Scheduled Resources field works as expected. Previously, an issue caused the field to remain editable after applying a View Only restriction. 
Skills 1550488910 Fixed. Creating a new Skill Category now allows you to apply a Skill Range. Previously clicking the Skill Range 'Pick' button resulted in an empty modal.
Tasks 1538530717

Fixed. The Cost Budget field in the Task grid reflects the sum of CapEx and OpEx tasks. Previously, the sum included OpEx fields only. 

UI, Multi-currency 1533931860

Improved. The type-ahead/searching function has been improved, primarily when searching for currency codes. Previously, it appeared that certain currencies were not supported, when in fact the type-ahead was not locating and displaying them. 

User-defined fields 1543369961

Fixed. User-defined field titles can repeat across entities. For example, you can have a Project Log field called Calamity, and you can have a Task field called Calamity. Previously, if a user tried to enter a UDF title that was in use in another entity, the system threw the error: Title: Another field already has this title" - to which we now say, so what?!
