Additional updates as necessary To support our goal of getting working features to customers faster, we may deliver a release outside of the monthly cycle to provide new, low-risk functionality and/or essential issue fixes.

Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows.

Reminders

  • Features that are ready will enter GA status in the first month's release of each calendar quarter: January, April, July, October. There will be an occasional variance from this schedule. You can enter a support request to move a beta feature into your production environment.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket (some beta features not initially available in production, Planview will advise). Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle. 
  • Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned releases/updates. These alerts include the date and time window of the update, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the update/release. To subscribe to these alerts, please go to https://status.planview.com/ and click the Subscribe button.
  • We typically hold a live product release webinar on the Wednesday before the production release. This webinar will be hosted by PPM Pro product management and consulting personnel, and will include time for Q&A. Click here to register for the January 15th release webinar. Dashboards Revamp

If you wish to enable Dashboard Overviews in production, enter a support case requesting to do so.

Rolling beta highlights:

  • Ability to change report component headings in dashboards
  • Dashboard Overviews! Project and Home
  • Minor usability enhancements around Content tab
  • Dashboards grid from where you can New/Edit/Run dashboard
  • Content tab (Title, Description, Available Reports) with ability to drag and drop or click “Add” button to add a report to the dashboard
  • Scope tab with ability to specify what entity dashboard grids the dashboard shows up on
  • Preview - able to move reports around, resize, and Remove
  • Variable properties on report components to adjust filters

Reports Revamp

  • Access "Display Data As" format option in the Field Options dialog
  • Reporting on hierarchical entities (tasks, portfolios)
  • Specialty reports: Project/Request scoring, permission
  • New chart type: Combination: Area, Column, Line chart
  • Ability to edit/rearrange color palette
  • Ability to express % value on pie and donut charts
  • Combined sorting and grouping
  • Drilldowns from all chart types to appropriate targets (report, dashboard, data), including from multi-select fields
  • Export to PDF for all reports other than Gantt
  • Times Series reports with date ranges (non-contoured data)
  • Export to PowerPoint for all reports except List, Crosstab, and Gantt

Support for Negative Financial Entries

Support for negative financial entries (forecasts and actuals) in UI, API, and data import, allowing you to record corrections and make adjustments.

Token-based authentication for WS API

Admins can now generate an authentication token for WS API users that can be used any place in WS API that currently uses the user's password. New integrations can also bypass the need to call the Login method by providing the token directly in the SOAP payload. Though this method is both more secure and efficient, passwords will continue to be supported.

Sunsetting Internet Explorer 11 March 31, 2021

Please see End of Internet Explorer 11 Support for more information, including Microsoft's own plans for deprecating IE11.

  • Effective December 31, 2020 we are offering very limited support:​

    • We will no longer be testing IE11​.

    • Only critical bugs reported by customers will be triaged, with no guarantee of a fix​.

  • We will completely stop support as of March 31, 2021​.

Function Area LeanKit Card Release Note Description
Financial Summary 1439016105 Fixed. When creating fields for the financial summary, the Capitalized constraint works as expected. Previously, an issue was preventing users from creating capitalized summary fields.
Reports 1441482681 Fixed. Using the "NNN" date filter field works as expected when used with the Resource Planning by Resource Allocations report source. Previously, when using the "NNN months" date field, the results only returned this month's data and displayed "-no value-" in the date column.
Reports 1451099365 FYI. You can no longer report on related resources of task and issue owners because  owners no longer have a one-to-one relationship with the task/issue since those entities can now have multiple owners. If you need to report on related resources, use the new reporting (Beta - R2D2).
SSA 1428627716 Improved. The "Iterative Work Task" field is not for use on the UI, and as such has been removed from SSA. You can use it for filters and reporting.

Timesheets alerts

1362477760

Fixed. "Overdue for submission" timesheet alerts configured to notify the resource's immediate supervisor will send a digest of timesheet links to the supervisor, as expected. Previously, one timesheet link per email was being sent to the immediate supervisor, resulting in a deluge of emails!

Units 1442307258 Fixed. When adding resources to units, the column headings in the Add dialog display correctly. Previously, an issue caused the Unit column heading to display mark-up characters.
WS API 1414638467 Fixed. When using updateEntity for lookup lists, you can set list values to active or inactive, as expected. Previously, the system threw an error when attempting to change the value.
