The table below lists this month's product release dates.

Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows, which are Fridays, 10 PM PT - 1 AM PT.


  • Features that are ready will enter GA status in the first month's release of each calendar quarter: January, April, July, October. There will be an occasional variance from this schedule. You can enter a support request to move a beta feature into your production environment.
  • You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket. Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle.

Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned releases/updates. These alerts include the date and time window of the update, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the update/release. New Requests! (aka Requests revamp)

This feature will be rolled out over the course of several releases ("rolling beta"). The Initial Features are part of the June release.

We will update this list every month to indicate when/what additional features will be included.

Legacy requests will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future. You can use legacy requests and new requests side-by-side while you set up the new requests to your liking. Since the new model is different from the legacy in several key ways, we are not planning an automated migration at this time.

The following project report field names have been changed:

Minor WS API Update - August

The following WS API methods have "start" and "end" parameters that specify an interval of time for obtaining the history:

  • findEntityUpdateHistory
  • getDeleteHistory
  • getEntitiesByFilterUpdateHistory
  • getUpdateHistory
  • getUpdateHistoryForBasicAssociations

Though it has always been ambiguous to specify a date/time without timezone offset such as "2018-06-12T05:00:00" or "6/12/2018 5:00 PM" for these parameters, PPM Pro has consistently interpreted such times in the US/Pacific timezone (PST/PDT).  

Starting with the August release, calls to these methods that do not specify a timezone will resolve to UTC and the documentation will be updated to reflect that the timezone offset should always be specified. Planview strongly encourages the use of ISO-8601 zoned date/time formats such as "2018-06-12T18:30:00Z" or "2018-06-12T11:30:00-0700" when calling these methods to avoid any ambiguity. Some of these methods also provide a mechanism for supplying a date format. These mechanisms, while not as standardized as ISO-8601 formats, can also be used so long as a time zone is specified (e.g. 6/12/2018 11:30 AM PDT).

Permissions 1759528769 Fixed. The project Owner field is visible to users with View permission on project Details. Previously, a regression caused this field to be visible only to users with Edit Details permission.
Permissions, SSA 1759534448
Fixed. Field-level restrictions, specifically configuring (everyone else), are now working correctly for the "Yes-View Only" restriction. A regression prevented users in the (everyone else) group  from seeing values in the fields they are eligible to view.
Projects 1759512233 Fixed. Actual costs now reflect correct values when using the Normalize Costs resource setting.

Alert, Issue 1759277074 Fixed. Issue alerts generated when an issue is created now contain values for the issue fields Problem Description and Problem Resolution. Previously, these field values were not displayed in the alert.
Alert, Timesheet 1759196745 Fixed. When configuring timesheet alerts, the configured alert time and the time displayed in the next possible alert time message now match; both use the user's locale.
Attachment 1759181167 Improved. When adding attachments to entities that use profile-permissions and SSA (tasks, projects, issues, financial entries, etc), the "Public" checkbox has been removed from the Add Attachment dialog. Access to attachments for these entities are controlled by permissions profiles; the "Public" checkbox was made obsolete by permission profiles.
Attachment 1759302729 Improved. Documents with titles longer than 80 characters can be uploaded and attached to PPM Pro - if no title is specified, the system uses the first 80 characters of the document title for the attachment title.

Alternatively, you can enter up to an 80 character value in the Title field of the Add Attachment dialog.
Dashboard 1759315219 Fixed. Dashboard components can be edited, as expected. Previously, an error was thrown when editing a Labor/Non-Labor report component in a dashboard.
Dashboard 1759374049
Fixed. Copying and publishing dashboards correctly respects the dashboard permissions (as opposed to the permissions on the underlying reports). Previously errors were encountered when copying or publishing dashboards if the user doing the publish/copy was not the owner of the dashboard AND did not have view details permission on at least one report which was a component of the dashboard.
Finances 1759325038 Fixed. When "Use Internal Rates" is deselected on Organization/Finances/Settings, the Internal Rates page disappears, but the Settings page remains accessible. Previously, the Settings page disappeared when Use Internal Rates was unchecked.
Finances 1759398356
Fixed. Internal rate tables can be created, assigned, and updated on Organization/Finance/Internal Rate by users with the appropriate permissions.
Issue, Project, Task 1758685413 New. The Add Association modals for Tasks and Issues each includes a Project dropdown to allow the user to filter the associated tasks/issues by parent project. In the past, the list of associated tasks/ issues could be quite long given it spanned all associated projects. Now the user can select a parent project (or all/none/single project) and the Add modal will show tasks/issues that are children of the selected project only.
Permissions, Project 1759389618 Fixed. When creating a project from a template, the current user can edit the project Owner field prior to saving the new project (permissions are ignored). Once the project is created, that field can be edited only if the user has the appropriate permission. This scenario was implemented with the rollout of profile-based permissions, but had regressed in a subsequent release (users were prevented from editing the Owner field during project creation).
Portfolio 1759373606
Fixed. (Issue was IE-specific) The Impact Analysis diagram displays entity titles.
Portfolio, UI 1759288615 Fixed. After opening a portfolio in chart view and then navigating away from the portfolio, a user can return to the portfolio from its bookmark. Previously, the bookmark link opened the Portfolio tab, but did not select the portfolio (right-hand panel was empty).
PPA 1759192106 Fixed. When using PPA, clicking the New button works as expected and no longer throws an error. Previously there was an issue with deleting a UDF that was used as an optimization field, which resulted in a error when the user tried to create a new scenario.
Project 1759294318 1759006397 1759027561 1759027672 1759151079 Fixed. Custom project sequence IDs are consistently incremented by 1 when creating a new project. Previously, the sequence IDs were occasionally skipping numbers.
Project 1759375001 Fixed. The total Total Hours value is displayed on the project Staffing screen. Previously, the total Total Hours value was not displaying.
Project, UI 1759237680 Fixed. In certain situations an old version of the project UI rendered when creating a project from a request. This will no longer happen.
Reports 1758498143 Fixed. Drilling down from a pie chart to a list report now works as expected - the list report renders the expected data even after re-running the report after the filter has been changed from the report output screen.
Reports 1759383611
Fixed. When creating/copying a report, you can add users to the Visibility tab before saving the report. Previously, if you clicked this tab prior saving, the system threw an error.
Reports 1759352185 Fixed. Portfolio child To Date fields are returning expected results. Previously, these fields returned values for only the first row of a report.
Reports 1759404651 Fixed. When creating a Gantt report, columns that are configured in the report definition as Hidden will not display in the report output. Previously, the fields would remain hidden only after reconfiguring them and running the report a second time.
Reports 1758988486 Fixed. Billing rates report sources (Billing Rates on an entity such as Organization, Project), were not available due to a configuration error - this has been resolved, and the report sources are available as expected. 
Reports 1759149914 1758957810 1759259191  1759347352 Fixed. Various fixes around audit history reports that resolve things such as:
- reports missing rows or cell values when certain fields were included in report definition
- reports with blank cells when certain fields were included in report definition
- reports that render no data - inability to access audit history reports
Reports 1759264035 1759282914 Fixed. The "Slant" Axis Label Option for Column charts now works as expected. Previously, an error occurred if the user selected "Slant".
Reports 1759281467 Fixed. The pie chart options "Display Label" and "Legend Position/None" now control whether labels/legend are displayed. Previously, the labels/legend displayed regardless of the settings.
Reports 1759384292 Fixed. When creating a Gantt chart report, you can include the Predecessors field as a column field and successfully save and run the report. Previously, including the Predecessors field as a column field resulted in an error.
Reports, Timesheet 1758340481 1758487947 Fixed. Address an issue with sorting entering a loop on certain types of large timesheet entry reports that was causing these reports to remain in the reports queue for a long time. These reports will no longer show as active once all output types have finished rendering.
Requests, User 1759421459 Fixed. Request users can be created after the legacy request feature has been disabled.
Resource Staffing 1522700768 New. You can now add the project Status field to the Allocations pane of the Resource Workbench. The Configure Settings modal that you access by clicking the gear icon at the top of the workbench now includes tabs for Resources List columns and Allocations List columns, where you can pick which columns to display for each pane of the Resource Workbench.
Resource Staffing 1758993308 Fixed. A resource allocated to a project in role that has since been deactivated can be scheduled to a task with the inactive role. Previously, a regression caused the schedule to use "no role" when scheduling a resource whose allocated role was had been deactivated.
Resource Staffing 1759246670 New. The Allocations pane of the Resource Workbench can now be sorted by project title.
Resource Staffing 1759374693 Fixed. The sum of the Total Hours column appears at the bottom of the Total Hours column in the project Staffing screen. Previously, the total hours value was not displayed.
Resource, Timesheet 1758098209 1759367701 1594920549 New. In Home/Resources there is a new Actions menu option called "View Timesheets". This option is only visible if the user has permission to see/approve resource timesheets for the selected resource (timesheet approver in one form or another, final or PM) or is member of Time Manager group.

Selecting the option opens a new tab displaying the selected resource's timesheet for the current period. The user can act on the timesheet just as they would on the Timesheet Approvals page.
