PPM Pro April 2024 Q&A
Question | Answer |
---|
When will field dependant logic will be available for request and/or projects???? | We did have our internal team do a proof of concept leveraging AWS step functions, after initial signs of success, however we have found issues with the approach. We are looking into this but its not expected to be targeted before Q4‚ 2024. |
Question on odata enhancement in new reporting, with legacy we had restrictions on the amount of data, with this change are there still restrictions? | There is no restriction as of now that we have configured in R2D2 OData. If you encounter any such limitations, please reach out. |
Release notes, there was an update release after the March release however I didn't see any updates to the release notes on what was changed. As well, I do not see the release notes for the April release yet on the site. | We had security updates that we continue to ship in order to keep our systems safe and secure. This update was one such release, in future I will include these in order to avoid any confusion. Release notes are released 2nd Wednesday of the month. |
Did conditional field logic and self service resource entity get removed from the PPM Pro raodmap? | Conditional Field Logic: We did have our internal team do a proof of concept leveraging AWS step functions, after initial signs of success, however we have found issues with the approach. We are looking into this but its not expected to be targeted before Q4‚ 2024. SSA for resources: Yes, it was on roadmap but currently we don't expect being able to target it at least till later this year. |
On Project Place: 1. Is there current functionality with task updates in PPM Pro. Or is this just available in the new version. 2. On reporting, she mentioned checklist items - are these tasks?? |
1, tasks updates happen in both version of connection between applications. Please reach out to our support in case you are configuring. 2. Information related to Checklist items on cards in ProjectPlace are now available for reporting through the ProjectPlace Odata sets. If you use cards in ProjectPlace and have them integrated in PPM Pro, you will see a new Task category called "ProjectPlace Card" appear under Admin. Once you have set any Project in PPM Pro to sync in either direction, the Cards will appear in your WBS for PPM Pro as either a child task (if associated to an activity in ProjectPlace), or summary tasks at the bottom of your task tree (if not associated to any activity). Hope this helps. https://success.planview.com/Planvie...rk_with_Boards https://success.planview.com/Planvie...se_a_Checklist |
For those of us who evaluate the release notes and verify no issues for our implementation in sandbox, giving us only 2 days for testing isn't idea. Is there a way to release the notes when we are notified the Thursday before its release into Sandbox? | Yes, so Sandbox is this Friday. That gives 1 week of testing. We would be improving the timeline earlier if that helps. |
