Capacity, Hours

What is the difference between Headcount and Full Time Equivalent (FTE)?

FTE is an Organization-level setting that refers to the hours per day that your organization has set. A typical organization's FTE is set to 8 - for one 8 hour work day. FTE is used in reporting when displaying information across multiple projects for multiple resources, because the resources' calendars/capacity may not match. Headcount is resource-specific. For example, one headcount for a resource that has a 20 hour work week would be equal to 20 hours. That same resource would show .5 FTE.

Hours

Can you transfer historic hours in bulk?

No. Hours can be transferred for one resource at a time by having a user in the Timesheet Manager standard group edit historic timesheets in Organization/Manage Time & Expense/Resource Time. That user can use the filters at the top of the page to retrieve the historic timesheets and move the hours to a different project.

Why is HTC not computing automatically?

If you do not enable the timesheet setting "Allow users to view or edit hours to complete (HTC)", the HTC column will not appear on timesheets, and PPM Pro will not track HTC. See Configuring Timesheet Settings. If enabled, when you assign a resource to a task (also known as creating a task schedule), the Scheduled Hours value you enter on the task Scheduling tab is also the initial HTC value. When you enter hours, HTC will decrease; when you remove hours, HTC will increase. Deleting the entry from the timesheet will increase HTC by the number of hours removed.

When is time entered on timesheets recorded against projects?

Immediately. Recorded time - whether or not approved or submitted - is applied as actual hours on projects immediately. This on project, capacity and demand - eveywhere that says actual hours and actual costs - from the task all the way up to the portfolio. Timesheet status and approval state has no bearing (even rejected entries are still logged against projects).
