Important Update for SameSite Cookie Setting
Important Announcement
Planview will implement SameSite cookie settings in February 2020 to improve privacy and security for all ProjectPlace users. This change will affect all HTTPS traffic to ProjectPlace through web browsers, and may cause users on older browser versions to experience problems with accessing ProjectPlace.
What are SameSite cookies?
SameSite prevents the browser from sending the cookie created and stored by ProjectPlace along with cross-site requests (i.e. when a user navigates to another website after having used ProjectPlace.) The main goal is mitigate the risk of cross-origin information leakage. It also provides some protection against cross-site request forgery attacks. You can find more information about what information we gather and how we use cookies here.
What do you need to do?
Make sure you have the latest version of your browser installed. Please be aware of that older versions of Chrome are not automatically updated to the latest version, and you need to manually update your browser. Read more here about how to check your Google Chrome version and perform an upgrade. If you are using a recent version of one of the ProjectPlace supported browsers, no action is needed.
What if I don't update my browser?
Older browser versions that does not support SameSite cookie settings (e.g. versions of Chrome from Chrome 51 to Chrome 66) will reject the cookie, and users trying to access ProjectPlace via older browser versions will not be able to connect to ProjectPlace.
