Plan Snapshot
In the Plan tool now, it is now possible to create a snapshot on a given date. This snapshot can be later referenced to assess what has changed in the Plan since the snapshot was taken. The snapshot is only for viewing and referencing purposes, and the plan can't be reverted back to the state when the snapshot was captured.
In the coming week, it will also be possible to automate the snapshot functionality, so take a periodic snapshot at a predefined cadence. And the same is also going to be available in the Odata set for reporting.

Planview Labs
Planview Labs is Planview’s innovation hub for new ideas, products, and capabilities across the Planview Platform. Planview Labs is an early access program for testing and providing feedback about new, potential capabilities that the Planview product teams are considering for the future.
Data Loss Prevention
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a new feature we are adding to the document management capability in ProjectPlace. It will allow our customers to tightly control how content is shared and downloaded within and outside their organizations. It will be a lightweight solution to create and deploy DLP policies within your organization and ensure that every risky and noteworthy event is prevented and documented.
With the labs’ release, we are giving an early bird view into the functionality and seeking feedback around:
- Coverage of DLP, regarding what other product areas can be helpful.
- Easy of usage.
- The current shortcoming in terms of capabilities.

Sentiment Analysis on Cards in Boards
Sentiment Analysis on Cards in ProjectPlace
As a part of Planview’s Data Science and AI initiative, we have created the sentiment analysis on cards in a ProjectPlace Board.
There are many ways of quantitively judging the progress or status of a task/card. But there is a mine of qualitative information that your team members are capturing as comments on those tasks. Imagine if you could judge the health of a task by analyzing the general tone and language of those comments. That is exactly what sentiment analysis does for you. It is a great tool for project managers and team leaders who want to get a feel for the team and work.
With the Labs’ release, we are giving an early bird view into the functionality and seek feedback on:
- Accuracy: Does the score align with your opinion of the card status?
- Recency: Is the scoring tracking with the most recent status?
- Scoring: Is the scoring easy to understand? If not, what could help?
