Issues Accessing Read or Edit Versions of Documents

If you don't get the Read or Edit option when opening a document, it is possible that you have not yet installed the ProjectPlace document add-on. If you have installed the add-on, you might not get the Read or Edit option because the add-on is not working or it is blocked. The instructions below should help you troubleshoot if the add-on is not working properly.

To get these options, the ProjectPlace document add-on has to be installed and running.

Ensure the Add-on is Working

  1. Right-click on the ProjectPlace icon pp-removebg-preview.png.
  2. If multiple options appear, the add-on is properly installed.

Windows users: The ProjectPlace icon is located at the bottom, right corner of the display, though it might be hidden under the arrow.

If the login option doesn't appear, choose Preferences. This will allow you to check whether you are logged in with the correct email address.

If you log in with Single sign-on or if two-step verification is activated for your user account, you will need to use an app password to complete the log in process.

You can also right-click the ProjectPlace App icon ProjectPlace Icon.png from the Windows Taskbar (or Mac Launchbar). Select Preferences and in the window that appears, click the Open folder button.
