Use ProjectPlace with Microsoft Teams

As of August 2024, Microsoft discontinued support for application connectors to send notifications. Now, ProjectPlace notifications to MS Teams are available only through Microsoft Workflows. If you’re using an app connector, follow these steps to migrate:

Connect ProjectPlace Board to MS Teams Channel

  • Navigate to Account Administration > Settings > Third-party software data access.
  • Toggle on the "Microsoft Power Automate" option and click Save.
  • To revoke access, uncheck "Power Automate".

  • In MS Teams, open the Workflows app and select "+ New flow."
  • Search for "ProjectPlace" and choose a notification trigger ("When a card is created/due/updated").
  • Define the board and options, then select "+ New step."
  • Search for "Microsoft Teams" and choose "Post message in chat or channel."
  • Customize the notification.

Note that notifications through Workflows requires a Power Automate premium subscription or similar.

Add a ProjectPlace Tab to a Microsoft Teams Channel

Add ProjectPlace as a Tab in MS Teams:

  • Click the "Add tab" icon in your MS Teams channel.
  • Search for and select "ProjectPlace" and click Save.
  • You will be required to authenticate with ProjectPlace to continue

Microsoft Teams is an external (or third-party) service provider and is not associated with ProjectPlace. We are offering the ProjectPlace - Microsoft Teams integration which only a ProjectPlace account owner can enable up for your Microsoft Teams account. You may also uninstall or remove the ProjectPlace connector for Microsoft Teams at any time. The Microsoft Teams application will serve as a data processor for all personal data you provide to the platform, and you will remain the data controller. ProjectPlace is not responsible for data shared between you and Microsoft Teams. Please review the Microsoft Teams website for additional information.
