Use Group Job Titles as Rate Holders for User and User placeholders

Group Job Titles are Job Titles that are members of a User Group. They are used to be Rate Holders and determine Cost and Billing rates for both User and User placeholder resources. This makes it possible for resources with the same Job Titles to hold and make use of different rates, based on their User Group association. It reduces the need to maintain several similar Job Titles for the sole purpose of differentiating rates or group membership.  See here for more information on managing Group Job Title rates.

  • On creation, Group Job Titles initially take on the cost & billing rates associated with the Job Title. If Job Title rates are not specified, the Organization rates are used.
  • Job Titles added to Groups do not have an impact on group capacity.

As an alternative, you can use the following options to create, update and delete objects in AdaptiveWork:

  • Business rules (Workflow, Scheduled Workflow, Custom Actions) in the Configuration of your organization.
  • Data loader functionality by uploading Excel (xls, xlsx) or csv files. The Data Loader uses API calls for its functionality and therefore adheres to the API governance and specifications defined by AdaptiveWork.
  • The REST API Data Service supporting the basic CRUD operations.

Creating Group Job Titles

You can create Group Job Title either from the Group entity, or from the Job title entity.  From the Job Title entity, simply add User groups as Job Title Members.

  1. Go to the Group module and select a User Group.
  2. Click Add related Group Members either from the Add Related toolbar/button, or the Add button on the Group Members panel.
  3. In the Show field on the Add Group Members dialog, select Job Title.
  4. In the Available list, select the job titles and then click the double right arrow to add them to the group.

  5. Click Save.

Deleting a Group Job Title

You can delete Group Job Title either from the Group entity, or from the Job title entity.  From the Job Title entity > Job Titles Members, select one or more Group Job Titles and then click Delete.

  1. In the Group Members panel, select one or more Group Job Titles, and then click Delete.
  2. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

Deleted Group Job Titles display their names strikethrough and are later deleted permanently by an overnight job, provided that they are not in use elsewhere in the system. Deleted Group Job Titles that have not been permanently removed can be reactivated or added as new Group Job Titles.
