Delete Group(s)

This page describes how to delete User groups in your organization. 

As an alternative, you can use the following options to create, update and delete objects in AdaptiveWork:

  • Business rules (Workflow, Scheduled Workflow, Custom Actions) in the Configuration of your organization.
  • Data loader functionality by uploading Excel (xls, xlsx) or csv files. The Data Loader uses API calls for its functionality and therefore adheres to the API governance and specifications defined by AdaptiveWork. 
  • The REST API Data Service supporting the basic CRUD operations.

Who can do this? 

Your organization's Admin can define whether your Profile has access to this module and if you can add or delete items. Profile configuration for the entity will define related items, fields, actions and other layouts that Users will access to.

  1. Go to the User Group module.
  2. Select one or more groups from the User Group List.
  3. From the Common ribbon , click Delete.

    Note that you cannot delete User Groups that include Group Job Titles or Group Asset Types before deleting them. Note that the deletion of Group Job Titles or Group Asset Types is not immediate and will be deleted in an overnight job. Only then you will be able to delete the related User group. 

  4. ​A message prompts to confirm the action. Click OK to confirm the action.
  5. The groups are deleted and their state set to Inactive. If multiple groups are selected, a separate confirmation message appears for each one.

    Deleting user groups from AdaptiveWork removes the user groups from the pool of available resources, maintains all assignments, yet displays the deleted user groups' name with ‘strikethrough’ everywhere it appears in AdaptiveWork.
