Managing Contracts

Contracts represent the primary commercial agreement governing professional services delivery. They define the commercial context for how work is executed, tracked, and financially managed within PSA.

Contract Associations

  • A contract can be associated with multiple Projects, Milestones, or Tasks to define delivery coverage

  • Each individual work item is linked to a single contract, ensuring clear commercial ownership

  • Contracts may include sub-contracts, which are included in contract-level financial rollups

  • Contract records appear as Related Items on work items and customer sub-systems

Customer and Sponsor

  • Each contract is linked to a single Customer

  • A Contract Sponsor can be assigned using the Customer’s contact information

Permissions

  • Permissions are managed at the Contract level

  • By default, the Contract Owner has full visibility across the contract and related entities

  • Permissions do not propagate from the contract to associated work items and remain independent

Relationship to Delivery Work

  • Every work item is associated with one contract, ensuring consistent commercial alignment

  • Work Items and Contract Purchase Order associations provide contractual context directly within execution workflows
