Managing Advisor Access for Users

As an Administrator or Super User, you can control which users in AdaptiveWork have permission to view Advisor data or open Advisor directly from portfolios.

Advisor User Permission

A toggle field called Advisor User is available at the user level. This controls whether a user has access to Advisor features. Only Admins or Super Users can edit this field in AdaptiveWork.


How to Enable Advisor Access for a User

  1. Navigate to the User Management area.

  2. Find or search for the user.

  3. Use the Advisor User toggle to grant or revoke Advisor access.

Only enabled users will see the Advisor menu and can open Advisor from within AdaptiveWork portfolios.


License Limit Enforcement

  • Your Advisor access is limited to a maximum number of users, based on your contract with Planview (e.g. 20 Advisor licenses).

  • This license limit is displayed in Global Settings > Advisor Integration.

  • You cannot enable Advisor access for more users than your licensed amount.

A message will appear if you attempt to exceed the allowed number of Advisor users.


Automatic License Revocation

In cases where your license count is reduced (e.g., due to contract changes), users may automatically lose access:

  • If your license count is lowered and you exceed the new limit, AdaptiveWork will automatically disable Advisor access for some users.

  • Affected users will no longer see the Advisor menu or be able to open Advisor
