Account Roles and Permissions

Planview AgilePlace uses a tiered account role structure that determines what users can do at the account level. These roles have capabilities such as creating boards, managing teams, administering users, and accessing reports. Understanding these roles helps ensure users have the appropriate level of access for their responsibilities.

This article defines the account roles users can have in Planview AgilePlace, as well as the specific capabilities each role has.

Account roles in Planview AgilePlace

Account Basic User: The default role for standard users in AgilePlace. Basic Users can access and work on boards they have been added to, but they cannot create or edit boards or perform account-level administrative tasks.

Account Board Creator: A user who has been granted the ability to create boards, but is not an Account Administrator.

Team Organizer: A user who has been granted the ability to create boards and create/manage their own teams, but is not an Account Administrator.

Account Administrator: A user who has access to all boards on the account, regardless of the access they are assigned on individual boards. They can create, edit, and delete boards and create, enable, disable, and edit users (including making other users Account Administrators). They can also configure certain security settings and export usage and access reports. There is always at least one user assigned as an Account Administrator in an AgilePlace account, and more can be assigned at any time.
