Planview App Switcher

The app switcher is part of the new Planview top navigation bar and allows a seamless navigation between different Planview applications, e.g. Roadmaps, Planview.Me. When your environment is updated to use the new top navigation bar, the app switcher becomes available (provided your environment is connected to Planview Admin).

Please review the following considerations before enabling the new top navigation bar and app switcher in your environment.

Company Logo Compatibility

The new top navigation bar uses a dark background, which differs from the lighter background used in the previous version. At this time, only a single company logo can be configured per environment, and it is used across all surfaces — including the navigation bar, emails, and other pages. This means your logo needs to work across both contexts.

If your current logo is designed for a light background only, it may not display clearly against the new dark top navigation bar. Before enabling the new top navigation bar, we recommend reviewing your logo and updating it to one that is either designed for dark backgrounds or clearly legible on both light and dark backgrounds.

Note: A future release will introduce the ability to configure separate logos for light and dark themes independently, which will fully resolve this limitation.

Removed Functionalities

Based on usage data, the following features have been removed from the top navigation bar and are no longer available:

  • Alerts
  • Activities
  • Stopwatch  - temporarily removed and will be available again in an upcoming release

Language Support

The new navigation bar currently supports the following languages:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • German

Note: If your organization uses a language not listed above, the top navigation bar will default to English. Support for additional languages is planned for a future release.

Custom CSS Modifications Not Supported

The new top navigation bar is built on the Planview Design System (PVDS) and does not support custom CSS modifications, including changes to colours, fonts, or other visual styling. Any custom CSS applied to the previous top navigation bar will not carry forward to the new version.

Important: If your environment uses custom CSS on the top navigation bar today, please review and plan for its removal before enabling the new top navigation bar.
