Password Policy updates and changes


What happens to current passwords after changing the password policy in Daptiv?


The only area of the Password Policy section that would affect current passwords if changed is the 'Maximum Age' setting (if you change that and a user has a password older than the new setting, they will be asked to change their password the next time they log in). For all other settings, changes to the password policy are not enforced for existing passwords.

When you change a requirement for a password, users with existing passwords will not be forced to update their password (with the exception of if you change the Maximum Age setting as explained above), so users shouldn't be impacted. However, the next time they change their password they will need to use one that satisfies the new policy.
