Resource Management - Reporting

Reporting – New “Capacity Time Phased Data” reporting fields (Utilization Time-Phased Fields), including:

  • User Working Hours – Capacity of User’s calendar according to their schedule settings before any User Calendar exceptions are applied
  • Other Exception – The duration removed from User Working Hours that is a result of any All day or Partial Working User Calendar Exceptions
  • Total Exception – The total duration removed from User Working Hours that is a result of Working and Non-Working User Calendar Exceptions
Roadmapping

Roadmapping has included a lot of enhancements in this release:

  • Dependencies - Dependencies are now supported between Milestones and based on their type (Finish to Start, Start to Start). When enabling the Dependencies display, the correct type and entity dependencies will be displayed immediately.
  • Milestones settings - You can now specify the Milestone Fill and Info displayed on the roadmap to understand at a glance what is the state or status of a Milestone. You can customize the Fill based on any Percentage standard or custom fields.
  • Roadmap filters - Roadmap filters can now filter on both Project and Milestones so that you only show relevant information on the roadmap. In addition, filters are applied to both root project and milestones displayed underneath so that you can hide the root project or its milestones when looking at the overall roadmap.
  • Export the full roadmap - Export the full roadmap as PNG in addition to the specific View export option.
  • Milestones details (Supported in Hybrid Work Only) - You can now get the Details of the Project or Milestones by clicking on the name.
Product Renaming

Clarizen rebranded as AdaptiveWork

Planview renamed all products to a more descriptive naming structure to help customers better understand each product's role in our broader solutions. To that end, Planview Clarizen is now Planview AdaptiveWork, a flexible configuration engine that supports Hybrid work methodology.

Retain Resource Capacity when Filtering Reports

On the September 11th Release we introduced a new behavior when Capacity Time Phased Data is used in Reports. This change will be introduced for all customers in our next quarterly release, but it is now available on request for customers with sandbox environments. Customers who would like to enable this new behavior should contact their Customer Success representative.

There are three main changes:

  1. Filters using Labor or Staff Time Phased Data fields will no longer filter out resources shown in the Report. Only the Labor or Staff Time Phased Data included in the report will be affected.
  2. Resource Capacity in time periods where resources are not assigned to work items will no longer be excluded from the report.
  3. Advanced logic filters will only support definitions for fields from Labor or Staff Time Phased Data. Filters on User, Group or Capacity fields will be applied to the Advanced logic filter using the "and" operator. Any attempt to use the fields in the Advanced logic will be prevented.

More details can be found here.

Manually set action

Coming January 2023!

To improve usability, avoid unnecessary calculations, and achieve consistency with all field types and the different editor modes on how "Manually Set" is defined, we are modifying how fields are manually set.
We are adding a "Set" option to all Editor Modes, to allow users to easily set a value in a field as "Manually Set."

Online Chat Deprecation

As of April 1, 2023, the online chat will no longer be available and the 2 buttons associated with it will be removed from the user interface (see image).

With Microsoft Teams and Slack being the de facto standard tools for online team communications, the decision has been taken to invest in product integrations with Microsoft Teams and Slack, and sunset the legacy chat component, which is not being used.
