Planview Customer Success Center

Roadmaps Widget (available soon)

The Roadmaps widget embeds the Planview Roadmaps experience directly into Planview.me, allowing Portfolio Managers and executives to visualise, review, and communicate strategic plans without leaving their daily workspace. Roadmaps are built from AdaptiveWork Portfolios, Programs, Projects, and Milestones, providing a live view of the organisation's strategic portfolio.

Who Is This For?

•       Executives and Business Stakeholders

•       Program and Portfolio Managers

•       Project Managers

What You Can See

The widget displays roadmaps powered by AdaptiveWork portfolio data. Projects and milestones from the selected portfolio appear on an interactive timeline.

NOTE

Only first-level projects are displayed on the roadmap. Programs appear in the search and selection screen but are not shown as items on the timeline. Milestones at all hierarchy levels are included and displayed at their end date. Sub-projects are not shown.

What You Can Do

From the Roadmaps widget, users can:

•       Add projects from AdaptiveWork portfolios and programs to the roadmap timeline.

•       Group projects into swimlanes using any AdaptiveWork standard or custom picklist field.

•       Colour-code projects by any AdaptiveWork standard or custom picklist field.

•       Filter the roadmap by project attributes.

•       Share the roadmap with other Planview Roadmaps users.

•       Export the roadmap for use in presentations and reports.

•       Duplicate, rename, and configure roadmaps.

•       Manage user access and transfer roadmap ownership.

Adding Items to the Roadmap

To add AdaptiveWork projects to the roadmap:

1.    Click Add Item → AdaptiveWork and select Portfolios as the entity type.

2.    Search and select the portfolios and programs whose projects you want to display. When both a portfolio and a program are selected, results are filtered using an AND operator.

3.    Select the projects to add. Milestones associated with each selected project are included automatically.

4.    Click Add selected items. The projects and milestones appear on the timeline immediately.

NOTE

Searching for milestones directly is not supported — milestones are added automatically when their parent project is selected.
