I’ve forgotten my password to the User Administration Console (Keycloak). How do I get back in?

Last Updated:    |  Applicable Hub Versions: All

Answer

The Hub User Administration Console comes pre-configured with a root user with the following credentials:

Username: root

Password: Tasktop123

When you had initially logged in to the User Administration Console, you would have been prompted to change the password. If the credentials have been forgotten or lost, access to the Advanced User Management features will be lost, however all functionality of Planview Hub will continue uninterrupted.

Follow the steps below to reset the credentials back to their default.

Note: Following these steps will clear all user management configuration including, but not limited to, user accounts, LDAP configuration, etc.

Windows

  1. Stop the Hub service
  2. Stop the Keycloak service
  3. Delete the data folder located in C:\ProgramData\Tasktop\keycloak\standalone\data. You may have to enable show hidden files, folders, and drives from Folder Options. Note that this will remove all existing KeyCloak user management configuration.
  4. Run the Planview Hub installer again but this time select the Repair option.
  5. Start the Hub service
  6. Start the Keycloak service

You should now be able to login to the User Administration Console with the following credentials:

Username: root

Password: Tasktop123

Linux

  1. Stop the Hub service
  2. Stop the Keycloak service
  3. Delete the data folder located at /keycloak/standalone/data. Note that this will remove all existing KeyCloak user management configuration.
  4. Extract a new copy of Hub and copy /keycloak/standalone/data to /keycloak/standalone/data
  5. Start the Hub service
  6. Start the Keycloak service

You should now be able to login to the User Administration Console with the following credentials:

Username: root

Password: Tasktop123
