Get started using Connected OKRs

Brainstorm and define objectives

Brainstorm and define your objectives. Objectives should be ambitious, time-bound, and possible to implement in current conditions.  

Create objective 

Portfolio manager, project manager, team member 

 

Create a new objective in either Planview Portfolios or Planview AgilePlace.  

Align with relevant parent and child objectives 

Portfolio managers, project managers, team members 

 

Connect objectives using parent-child relationships across your strategic hierarchy and AgilePlace boards. With connected OKRs, the parent or child objective can be on a Planview AgilePlace board or in Planview Portfolios. 

Create and define current and target metrics (key results) for objectives

Create one or more key results for each objective to track the progress your organization makes toward completing each objective. 

 

Align key results with activities 

Portfolio managers, project managers, team members 

 

Activities such as work items and cards capture your work toward key results.  

In Planview Portfolios, connect one or more work items to a key result to help manage the progress of the key result.  

In Planview AgilePlace, connect cards on boards to a key result to help manage the progress of the key result.  

Review and monitor progress

Periodically update key results with the progress your organization makes. This contributes to the calculation of the objective’s overall performance. 

Adjust plan as necessary

As progress toward key results is made, review the overall strategic plan to ensure that your focus remains on the right initiatives and activities, and adjust your plan as needed.  

Complete objective
