Accessing Connection Graph

Using Connection Graph

  1. Access Connection Graph (see options, below).
  2. To view a legend of the nodes and lines, click the Legend icon legend.png in the navigation bar.
  3. To view information about the relationships and the available AI insights for a node, right-click and select from the options.
  4. To view details about a node, click the node. The details panel appears.
  5. To view the relationships for a particular node only, in the Filter panel, search for the node by title.

Accessing Connection Graph in AgilePlace

Use Connection Graph to understand how your team's work connects to broader initiatives and identify cross-team dependencies:

  1. Access the AgilePlace board.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the Connection Graph icon connection-graph.png. Connection Graph displays the board, its cards, users, objectives, and key results as nodes and shows the connections between them as lines.

Accessing Connection Graph in Planview Portfolios

Use Connection Graph to analyze portfolio-level dependencies, program health, and strategic impact:

  1. Access the Work Portfolio View screen. For more information, see Work Portfolio View Screen Basics.
  2. Click the Connection Graph tab. Connection Graph displays the projects in the portfolio, associated strategies, and resources allocated at the project level as nodes, and shows the connecdtions between them.relationships between your strategies, OKRs, work items, and connected resources.
  3. [Coming soon] Use right-click AI insights to explore cascade risks, resource conflicts, and strategic alignment gaps.

Accessing Connection Graph in Planview.Me

Use Connection Graph to get a quick strategic overview before diving into specific areas. Connection Graph can be accessed in Planview.Me by a URL in the Links tile widget.

To set up access to Connection Graph in Planview.Me

  1. In either Planview.Me or Planview Admin, add a Link tile widget to a Planview.Me view.
  2. In the widget Settings dialog:
    • It is recommended you use a name that identifies that the widget is for Connection Graph.
    • Enter the URL for the Connection Graph from Planview Portfolios or AgilePlace.
  3. Save the view.

To access Connection Graph in Planview.Me

  1. Access Planview.Me. For more information, see Working with Planview.Me.
  2. Click the Connection Graph Link tile widget. 

Accessing Connection Graph from URLs

You can access Connection Graph from a URL, which enables you to do the following:

  • share specific graph views with colleagues for collaborative analysis
  • bookmark frequently-used views for quick access
  • embed specific Connection Graph views in reports or briefings
  • reference specific dependency analyses in executive communications

Best practice: Context-appropriate entry

  • For strategic discussions – to focus on strategy-to-execution flows, access Connection Graph from Planview Portfolios dashboards 
  • For execution challenges – to focus on team-level dependencies and bottlenecks, access  Connection Graph from AgilePlace boards .
