Table widget

Description

The ProjectAdvantage table widget displays projects, programs, ideas, phases, deliverables, risks, actions, and other ProjectAdvantage objects in a grid directly within Planview.Me.

You can review project information from your personalized view, customize the data shown through the selected ProjectAdvantage view, and navigate to the full ProjectAdvantage product for advanced actions and detailed views. The widget is available for use in Planview.Me.

The widget is geared toward:

  • Project Managers who monitor project status, schedules, and key deliverables across portfolios.

  • Program/Portfolio Managers who track multiple projects and their interdependencies or maintain consolidated views of organizational initiatives.

  • Product Managers who oversee product roadmaps and feature development.

  • Team Members who track assigned tasks and project involvement.

The widget supports the following use cases:

  • Review the status and progress of multiple projects from your view.

  • Monitor active projects without navigating to ProjectAdvantage.

  • Edit supported information inline, such as status, dates, and assignments.

  • Open ProjectAdvantage for advanced actions and detailed views.

  • Create personalized project-tracking views for your role.

Prerequisites

Before adding the widget, make sure that:

  • ProjectAdvantage is activated and accessible for your organization.

  • You have read permissions for at least one ProjectAdvantage workspace.

  • Your Planview administrator has enabled the ProjectAdvantage integration in PVAdmin.

  • You have a valid authentication and active session with ProjectAdvantage.

NOTE

If you do not see the ProjectAdvantage table widget in the tray, contact your Planview administrator to verify that ProjectAdvantage is enabled for your account.

TIP

Use descriptive titles when you add multiple ProjectAdvantage table widgets so that you can distinguish them at a glance. For example, use "My Active Projects Q1 2025" and "Team Deliverables - Design Phase."

Available functionality

The widget displays the objects from the selected ProjectAdvantage view in a scrollable table. The table inherits the columns, filters, and sorting configured in ProjectAdvantage.

The widget includes:

  • A sticky header with the grid icon, widget title, and More actions menu.

  • A title that uses an ellipsis when it is too long; hover over the title to view the full text.

  • Rows representing individual ProjectAdvantage objects.

  • A link in the widget footer to open the full ProjectAdvantage view.

From the More actions menu, you can select Settings or Remove widget.

When Enable in-widget editing is turned on, you can edit supported fields directly in the table. Inline editing follows the field-level permissions configured in ProjectAdvantage.

Configuration settings

When you add the widget or select Widget menu (⋮) > Settings, the configuration panel opens.

To configure the widget:

  1. In Workspace, select the ProjectAdvantage workspace containing the data you want to display. If you have access to more than 10 workspaces, use the Type to filter search box.

  2. In View, select the ProjectAdvantage view you want to display. The list includes views you can access, and the selected view supplies the widget's columns and filters.

  4. (Optional) In Description, add contextual help text for other users.

  5. (Optional) Turn on Enable in-widget editing to edit supported fields directly in the widget. You must have write permissions in the workspace.
