Overview and getting started

What is Planview Roadmaps?

Planview Roadmaps is a shared capability that enables program managers, product owners, and other planning roles to translate outcomes into a timeline of existing and planned epics, initiatives, and so on, to achieve the desired goals.

Planview Roadmaps allows users to create a future vision while maintaining a connection to delivery so that roadmap progress can be evaluated and updated based on changes in planning and delivery.

Planview Roadmaps is available at two subscription levels for users: Planview Roadmaps for Teams and Planview Roadmaps for Enterprise.

Planview Roadmaps for Teams

Planview Roadmaps for Teams is included with Planview AgilePlace licenses/subscriptions.

You can create ad hoc items and items based on AgilePlace cards on roadmaps to visualize and track progress.

Roadmaps for Enterprise subscriptions provide the following enhanced capabilities in addition to the Roadmaps for Teams functionality:

Using Planview Roadmaps for Enterprise, you can align work to strategies and outcomes. For example, you can:

  • import Planview Portfolios work (projects or epics) as roadmap items, and visualize timelines for and track progress of those items
  • add cards for the Agile project work done in AgilePlace
  • visualize project work with strategies imported from Portfolios or outcome deliverables such as products or technologies

Once you have added the relevant cards to a roadmap, you can then group and color code them to track and visualize progress.
