December 2025 release notes
Multiple associations feature
This enhancement allows a single Logbook entry – such as a risk, issue, lesson learned, or decision – to be associated with multiple entities across projects, programs, and strategies, which removes the need to duplicate entries and improves cross-entity context and reporting.
The benefits of this enhancement include:
- Eliminates duplication – a single risk or issue can be linked across multiple projects or strategies.
- Holistic cross-entity reporting – teams can understand how a Logbook entry impacts various initiatives and communicate interconnected insights more effectively.
- Better decision support – strengthens visibility and context, enabling more informed decisions and targeted actions.
What Has Changed
New system attributes in Planview Admin
There are two new system attributes for log types:
- Entity associations
- allows users to search and select additional entities of the same type as the primary entity.
- enables multiple associations for all Logbook entry types.
- Item associations (This attribute was earlier called 'Association')
- allows users to search and select work items from the plan/WBS of associated entities.
- strengthens traceability between Logbook entries and execution.
When these system attributes are added to a log type, users can add or manage associated entities directly from the Associations section in the details panel of a Logbook entry. Work items related to associated entities are also accessible through the same view.
Important Technical Notes
This release includes database-level changes. As a result, existing Logbook reporting and datasets may be affected. Updated Logbook dataset documentation is available on the Planview Customer Success Center at :Accessing Logbook data with OData to support teams with migration and reporting updates.
