When does Viz record changes to an artifact’s state?

Last Updated:   |  Applicable Viz Versions: All

Answer

Viz does not use any modification or resolution dates from your tool connections to record an artifact's state, but instead uses the change detection time when the status change is detected.

Here are a few examples to demonstrate when status changes are recorded:

Example 1:

  • An Issue is moved to Done at 10:00pm on Day 1.
  • Change detection runs at 11:00pm on Day 1.
  • A comment is added to the Issue at 12:01am on Day 2.
  • Change detection runs at 2:00am on Day 2.

In this example, the Issue would be recorded as Done on Day 1.

Example 2:

  • An Issue is moved to Done at 11:00pm on Day 1.
  • Change detection runs at 2:00am on Day 2.

In this example, the Issue would be recorded as Done on Day 2.

Example 3:

  • An Issue is moved to Done at 11:00pm on Day 1.
  • The Viz Agent is momentarily down on Day 1 and Day 2.
  • The Viz Agent is back up on Day 3.
  • Change detection runs at 12:00pm on Day 3.

In this example, the Issue would be recorded as Done on Day 3.
