Using a Roadmap

Click the main menu icon, and then select Insight > Roadmap.

In the Roadmaps view, search for and select the roadmap. The [roadmap name] is displayed.

Managing the card list

To filter the cards in the list

  1. Click Filter.
  2. Select the field values for the cards you want to be displayed.
  3. Click Apply.

To turn off the filter for the list but retain the filter criteria

  1. Click Filter.
  2. Click Turn Filter Off.
  3. To reapply the filter, click Filter and then Apply.

To edit or clear the filter criteria for the list

  1. Click Filter.
  2. To remove all filter critieria, click Clear Filters.
  3. To remove an existing value, click the x beside the value.
  4. To add a value to an existing field, click Add and then select the value.
  5. To add a value from another field:
    1. Click Add Criterion and then select the field.
    2. Select the value for the field.
  6. When you are editing the criteria, click Apply.

To sort the cards in the list

Click the Sort button and then select the option:

  • Newest – newest to oldest based on the creation date
  • Oldest – oldest to newest based on the creation date
  • Start Date – earliest to latest start date
  • End Date – earliest to latest end date
  • First Lifecycle State – initial state to final state
  • Last Lifecycle State – final state to initial state
  • Alphabetical – entity name in alphabetical order
  • Type (A-Z) – entity type in ascending order
  • Type (Z-A) – entity type in descending order

To create a demand card in the roadmap view.

  1. Click the plus sign to the right of the filter.
  2. In the blank card that appears, type a name for the demand.
  3. Press Enter. The demand card is created.
  4. To complete more field values, click the demand card to display the edit dialog.
  5. When you are finished, click Save.

Managing the timeline

To add a card to the timeline

Drag the card to the desired location on the timeline. If a start date and end date has been specified for the card, it will span the dates. If the card has only a start date or an end date, its start or end will be placed at the specified date and it will span the time block that is configured in Roadmap Configuration.

To remove a card from the timeline

Double-click the card to access the edit dialog and then clear the start date and end date fields.

To change the time block for the card

Do one of the following:

  • Point to the right end of the card until an orange bar appears and then drag the end to the desired date
  • Double-click the card to access the edit dialog and then edit the start date and/or end date.

To change the start date for the card

Do one of the following:

  • Click and drag the card to the desired date
  • Double-click the card to access the edit dialog and then edit the start date

To display the cards grouped by categories

Click Grouped in the title bar.

To revert to the list, click List in the title bar.

To view earlier or later in the timeline

Scroll left or right or move the Today line to the left or right.

To display the current date in the timeline

Click Today in the title bar.

To zoom in or out in the timeline

Click the Zoom in and Zoom out buttons in the title bar

To filter the cards in the timeline

  1. Click Filter.
  2. Select the field values for the cards you want to be displayed.
  3. Click Apply.

To take a snapshot image of the timeline

  1. Click Export in the title bar.
  2. Specify the start date and end date for the timeline snapshot.
  3. Click Export as PNG.
  4. Specify a file name and location for the PNG file and then click Save.
