Scenario Planning in the Roadmap

The Roadmap’s Scenario Planning feature allows you to move demands around the Timeline without editing or changing any underlying entity data. With this feature, you can create multiple arrangements of your demands on the Timeline and switch between them as you optimize the distribution of the demands.

To create a new Roadmap Scenario:

  1. Click the Plus (+) icon next to Scenarios in the upper right corner of the Roadmap. This puts the Roadmap into scenario editor mode.
  2. If necessary, use the action menu next to the scenario name to rename the scenario. New scenarios are assigned a default name.
  3. Add, rearrange, or remove demands from the Roadmap to create the scenario. Demands that were changed will become highlighted in orange.

               

    NOTE

    If an entity detail card is opened in scenario editor mode, only the date fields are saved as part of the scenario. Any other changes made to the detail card are permanent changes that take effect immediately.

               

  4. Click Exit Editor.

To switch between existing scenarios:

  1. Click the Scenarios button in the upper right corner of the Roadmap.
  2. From the menu that appears, select a scenario to view.

The scenario will open in the Roadmap in Editor mode.

To permanently apply the changes from any scenario to the Roadmap:

  1. Open the scenario to be applied, click the on the action menu button next to the scenario name.
  2. Click Apply scenario to roadmap.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, review the changes that will be made.
  4. Click Apply scenario to roadmap.

The Roadmap will update to match the selected scenario.

To delete a scenario:

  1. Select the scenario to be deleted, click the on the action menu button next to the scenario name.
  2. Click Delete scenario.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
