Name of the client.

Code

is the unique identifier for the client and cannot be changed for an existing record.

If the code is set for automatic allocation, the next available number will be assigned when you save a new record. However, you can set the associated check box off and enter a code that is not already in use.

Active

is checked if the client record is in use. You can uncheck the box if you want to make the record unavailable without deleting it (you will not be able to delete it if it is referenced by other records — for example, if it has contacts or is specified for projects). It is also possible to set up a client record in advance of it being needed and so make it inactive initially.

You should set all non-current clients to inactive status to prevent them being used. This removes these records from pick lists so that users only see those that are genuinely available.

Agency

is unchecked for an actual client. Check the box if the company is an agent that provides contractors.

Address
Telephone
Fax

provide contact details for the client.

Website

provides a link to the client’s website via a URL.

Email

is a general contact email address.

Client Group

identifies the group to which the client belongs. These are set up separately (refer to Client Groups) so that you can organize your clients by market area, geographical region, or however you wish.

No entry is required if the client is not part of a group. Otherwise, select the appropriate group from the drop-down list.
