Code

is the unique identifier for the currency. You will enter an unused code when adding a record and then cannot change the code once it is saved.

Name

provides a title for the currency to identify it.

Active

is checked for those currencies that are in use. You can uncheck the box if you want to make a currency unavailable without deleting it (you will not be able to delete it if it is referenced by other records). It is also possible to set up currencies in advance of them being needed and so make them inactive initially.

You should set all non-current records to inactive status to prevent them being used. This removes these currencies from pick lists so that users only see those that are genuinely available.

Symbol

is the one by which the currency is recognized.

System Currency

Audit

identifies this as the main currency used for accounting purposes. Only one currency can be designated as the system currency.

This entity has an audit screen to track any changes made to the configuration of the entity.
