Planview integrates with Amazon Q Business as a verified data accessor, enabling Planview's AI assistant to access your organization's Amazon Q Business application for enhanced insights and recommendations.

Overview

The Amazon Q Business data accessor feature allows Planview to securely retrieve relevant content from your organization's Amazon Q Business application. This integration enhances Planview's capabilities by providing access to your enterprise knowledge while maintaining security and data access compliance.

Prerequisites

Before configuring Planview as a data accessor in your AWS environment, ensure you have:

  • An active Amazon Q Business application environment

  • AWS IAM Identity Center configured for your organization

  • Administrative access to your Amazon Q Business console

  • Administrative access to your Planview instance

Configuration Requirements

Tenant ID Format

Your Planview Tenant ID is a unique identifier in UUID/GUID format (e.g., 519241a1-270a-44a4-a7ac-c788883cdc22).

To obtain your Tenant ID: Contact your Planview Customer Success team. They will provide your tenant ID and assist with the initial configuration.

Identity Provider Configuration

Amazon Q Business requires proper identity provider configuration to enable secure access between Planview and your Amazon Q Business application.

To configure identity provider trust: Contact your Planview Customer Success team to configure your identity provider for secure integration with Amazon Q Business.

AWS Configuration Values

After adding Planview as a data accessor in the Amazon Q Business console, you'll need to provide the following configuration values to Planview:

  • Application ID: Your Amazon Q Business application identifier

  • Application Region: The AWS region where your Q Business application is deployed

  • Retriever ID: The unique identifier for your Q Business retriever

  • IdC Application ARN: The IAM Identity Center application ARN for the data accessor

  • IdC Application Region: The AWS region for your IAM Identity Center instance

These values can be found in your Amazon Q Business console under the Data Accessors configuration page.

Setup Instructions

In AWS Management Console

Follow the AWS documentation to add Planview as a data accessor in your Amazon Q Business application:

  1. Navigate to your Amazon Q Business application in the AWS console

  2. Add Planview as a data accessor following the steps in the AWS Data Accessors documentation

  3. Copy the configuration values provided by AWS (Application ID, Retriever ID, IdC Application ARN, etc.)

In Planview

Contact your Planview Customer Success team with the configuration values from AWS. They will:

  • Complete the data accessor registration in your Planview instance

  • Configure the necessary authentication and authorization settings

  • Enable the Amazon Q Business integration for your organization

  • Provide guidance on feature availability and usage

Data Access and Permissions

Planview's data accessor integration respects your Amazon Q Business access controls:

  • Users can only access content they have been granted permission to view

  • Data access follows your organization's existing security policies

  • All data retrieval is logged and auditable through AWS CloudTrail
