Baseline Types (r16)

Prior to Planview Enterprise One release 16, functionality exists to define a set of governance baselines, known as Master Baselines, to be used at key points during the project lifecycles (e.g. at project approval, gate reviews) for performance monitoring. Previously, these Master Baselines could only be saved via an administrator-defined lifecycle step.

With Planview Enterprise One release 16, enhancements were introduced to enable the creation and management of Master Baselines (now called Baseline Types) directly in the Work and Assignments screen, without the need for a lifecycle step. Project managers can choose the Baseline Type when creating a new baseline and this information is also displayed on the Manage Baseline screen.

TIP

In Baseline Administration screens, Master Baseline Descriptions have been renamed Baseline Types. View the Work Baseline Administration topic for further information.

Baseline Types can be used in report parameters, providing users with the option to see specific baseline information.

Custom Attributes (r16)

Planview Enterprise One release 16 also introduced the ability for custom work attributes to be included in baselines, allowing project managers to capture and restore a more complete view of the project.

TIP

Administrators will need to enable the Include in Baseline option on the attribute definition screen for all relevant custom attributes. View the Modifying an Alternate Structure's Definition topic for further information.

New Baseline Control Menu (r15)

With Planview Enterprise One release 15, baseline management actions are no longer embedded in the action menu. A new Baseline control menu was added directly to the Work and Resource Management screen giving project managers easy access to manage their baselines, whether snapshotting, restoring or updating. From the New Baseline screen, users have the option to create a new user-defined baseline or create a pre-defined baseline.
