Outcomes
Outcome portfolios consist of outcomes (products, services, technologies, applications, or other types of deliverables an organization's projects and programs create, enhance, and support) in various stages of the outcome development lifecycle—from outcomes under consideration to those under development through launch. Outcome portfolios also include outcomes actively in the market. The portfolios can enable outcome-release management and roadmapping (managing and monitoring the relative timeline of outcome releases and associated projects). In addition, they can be used to track outcome development milestones and stage gates. Generally, the following two paths of activities are monitored: the outcome development process (for example, design, engineering, and manufacturing) and the commercialization process (including market research, competitive analysis, brand management, and other commercial considerations).
