Home

The Home page provides a quick summary of what you are currently working on in Planview Advisor. It can also give you buttons you can use to quickly take common actions you might need in Advisor.

There are two main features of this page, which you can configure to your liking:

  • Buttons
  • Tables

Home Buttons

The Home buttons run across the top of the Home page, just below the main navigation bar. You can select which buttons appear on your Home page through the Configuration menu in the upper right corner of the page.

           

NOTE

The buttons you can access in Planview Advisor will depend on your permissions. If necessary, you need to contact your Administrator to access additional buttons.

           

To configure your Home buttons:
  1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page. This opens the Configuration menu.

  2. To add a new button, click on the Plus icon to the right of the Buttons heading.

  3. Select a button to add from the menu that appears.

  4. To remove an existing button, click on the X icon next to the name of the button.

  5. Click the X in the upper-right corner of the menu to close the menu and save your changes.

The buttons you selected will appear above the tables in your Home page.

Available Buttons

Button Description
New Project Create a new project.
New Portfolio Create a new portfolio.
Data Shuttle Open the Data Shuttle.
Manage Workspaces Open a list of current workspaces.
Manage Current Workspace Changes Open a list of changes in the current workspace.
Recent Publications See publications across all your projects.
User Activity Open User Activity History Page. This option is only visible to Administrators.
Livelink Jump Open the selected livelink page.

Home Tables

The Home tables provide you with a list of projects, portfolios, or workspaces that you recently worked with. You can select which tables appear on your Home page. See Working with Tables to learn how to configure these tables once they are on your Home page.

           

NOTE

The tables you can access in Planview Advisor will depend on your permissions. If necessary, you need to contact your Administrator to access additional tables.

           

To add tables to Home:
  1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page. This opens the Configuration menu.

  2. To add a new table, click on the Plus icon to the right of the Tables heading.

  3. Select a table to add from the menu that appears.

  4. To remove an existing table, click on the X icon next to the table's name.

  5. Click the X in the upper-right corner of the menu to close the menu and save your changes.

The tables you selected will appear below the buttons in your Home page.

           

TIP

It is helpful to sort the Projects and Portfolios tables by the Last Opened column.

           

Available Tables

Table Description
Projects

Displays a short list of recently visited projects. Clicking on a project on the list opens the project.

Depending on your organization, projects may be called something else, such as Entities or Opportunities. This does not affect functionality.

Portfolios Displays a short list of recently visited portfolios. Clicking on a portfolio on the list opens the portfolio.
Workspaces Displays a short list of open workspaces. Clicking on a workspace takes you to list of changes that are different from the Latest Published Data (LPD).
