Flag Chart

Flag charts are used to quickly communicate upcoming milestones and event for projects across your portfolio on a single timeline. Any date field tracked in Planview Advisor can be added to the timeline. You can adjust how much detail is included about each project in it flag.

The visibility of projects in the chart is controlled by the project list under the chart. Only projects visible in the list are visible in the chart. 

Chart Control Description
Horizon Sets a start and end date for the timeline.
Dates Above Selects a date field with values that will appear as flags above the timeline.
Dates Below Selects a date field with values that will appear as flags below the timeline.
Color Selects a field to color the flags.
Labels

Select what metadata appears on the flag. You may add up to six labels to each flag.

Chart options

You can use the Chart Options Panel to add additional elements that can highlight or otherwise enhance parts of the chart.

To access the Chart Options Panel:
  1. Open the flag chart in your portfolio.
  2. Click the three parallel lines icon in the upper-right corner of the chart area.

This opens the Chart Options Panel. The chart options are described in the tables below.

           

Legend controls

Chart Option Description
Legend font size The slider adjusts the legend's font size. Move the slider to right to increase size for better readability or to the left to decrease size and fit more items in the legend.

Wide flags Checking the box doubles the width of the flags to accommodate more text.
