Treemap

Treemaps are a type chart used to display hierarchical data. Entities in the treemap are grouped together in nested rectangles where the size of the rectangle is based a value that you select.

The visibility of projects in the chart is controlled by the project list under the chart. Only projects visible in the list are visible in the chart. 

Chart Control Description
Size by Selects a field whose values will define the sizes of the rectangles in the treemap.
Group Selects a field to create the primary grouping.
Subgroup Selects a field to create the subgroupings in the primary grouping.

Chart options

You can use the Chart Options Panel to add additional elements that can highlight or otherwise enhance parts of the chart.

To access the Chart Options Panel:
  1. Open the treemap chart in your portfolio.
  2. Click the three parallel lines icon in the upper-right corner of the chart area.

This opens the Chart Options Panel. The chart options are described in the tables below.

           

Treemap labels

Chart Option Description
Add values to parent labels Check the box to add numeric values to the parent labels in the treemap.
Add % to parent labels Check the box to display the percent of the chart area occupied by each parent grouping.
Add values to child labels Check the box to add numeric values to the child labels in the treemap.
Add % to child labels Check the box to display the percent of the chart area occupied by each child grouping.
