Subdomains

In 2025, Planview Admin introduced subdomains for each organization. This change also necessitated changes to the Planview Admin login page.

Why do we need subdomains?

We implemented subdomains so that we can have discrete, isolated databases for organizations in Planview Admin. This allows us to better support users that need to be members in tenants that belong to different organizations.

If you are a member in multiple tenants, you can log into any of the tenants that you belong to using one email address.

How does this affect the login experience?

  • If you know your subdomain, you can sign in directly by going there.
  • If you don't know your domain, you will need to contact your administrator.
  • You can maintain separate sessions for different organizations if you have multiple browser profiles.

What is not affected?

  • Bookmarks - If you have a bookmark to the old URL, that bookmark will still work. However, you will be prompted to enter a subdomain when signing in.
  • Active sessions - You will not be forced to sign in again into any products where you currently have an active session. If your session expires, you will need to sign back in through the new login page.
  • Direct product logins - If you log directly into a Planview product, without Planview Admin, that experience does not change.
  • SSO logins - Your SSO login experience stays the same.

For administrators, these changes will not disrupt your tenant's existing settings:

  • OAuth Client Credential and API logins do not change.
  • SAML SSO Configurations do not change.

What will the login process look like?

To log in to Planview Admin through the new login page:
  1. Navigate to Planview Admin.

  2. Enter your email address and click Continue. Alternatively, you can enter your subdomain first by clicking the link below the email address field.

    NOTE

If you used the old URL to get to Planview Admin, you will be asked to enter your subdomain. If you do not know your subdomain, contact your administrator. After you sign-in, your subdomain can be found in the following locations:

    • In your URL after you sign-in.
    • On the overview tab of PV Admin under your username.
    • In the Product Switcher.

  3. If your organization is set up to use passwords, enter your username and password. If your tenant has not been set up to use usernames by your administrator, then your username is your email address. Click Continue.

  4. If your organization uses SSO, click Sign in with SSO. This will take you to your SSO sign in process.
