Username and Login Alias Synchronization with Portfolios

If your instance of Planview Admin is configured to require usernames or login aliases to sign in, you can synchronize them with existing Portfolios users. This allows you to maintain consistency across your Planview ecosystem by aligning user identification details between systems.

To enable usernames for Planview Admin, see Organization Profile Settings.

To enable login aliases, see Single Sign-on Settings for Planview Admin.

The following fields from Portfolios can be synchronized to users in Planview Admin:

  • UserID - This synchronizes to Username.
  • NetworkID - This synchronizes to Login alias.

           

NOTE

This process only affects users that are provisioned in Portfolios.

To synchronize usernames or login aliases with Portfolios fields: 
  1. Open the Users tab.
  2. Open the Actions menu in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Click Sync usernames.
  4. Select a Portfolios instance under Sync from.
  5. Select your Import values.
    • UserID - imports field values as usernames.
    • NetworkID - imports field values as login aliases.
  6. Click Sync.

This initiates the synchronization process. While it is ongoing, you can navigate away and continue working in Planview Admin. You will receive an email confirmation when the process is complete.

When synchronizing NetworkID to login aliases, exisiting login aliases will be overwritten. If an existing username in Planview Admin matches a UserID value, the system will skip that value and continue.
