Other Configuration Options

The following configuration is maintained in the Parameter Defaults node in the Report ID branch of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure.

Parameter Description Configuration Options Example Settings
Hide Non-Utilizable Standard Activity on Non Working Days This advanced parameter can be utilized to control the way that the report handles how non-utilized standard activities reported on non-working days are handled. This supports the use case where;
  • The calendar has the day set as a non-working day (for example Thanksgiving), meaning that there is zero capacity on that day.
  • Time is reported on such a day and it appears that the day was productive.
A default can be set using:
  • hide_nusa_on_nwd=
Possible values are:
  • Y - Hide
  • N - Do no Hide
If enabled, any non-utilizable standard activities scheduled or actually worked on a non-working day (according to the resource's calendar) will be ignored in the utilization calculation.
The default FastTrack configuration for is set to:
  • Do not Hide Non-Utilizable Standard Activity on Non Working Days
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • hide_nusa_on_nwd=N
No configuration entry will also default to "N"
Treat Standard Activities as Project

The configuration of this report supports two method of displaying standard activities.

By default (parameter set to "N") standard activities all display under a project as separate activities with the project name “Standard Activities” (or whatever they are called in the standard activities primary structure).

Alternatively, (parameter set to “Y”) you can display each standard activity as a separate project in the report.
A default can be set using:
  • treat_stdact_as_project=
Configuration options are:
  • Y - Treat Standard Activites as Projects
  • N - Do not Treat Standard Activites as Projects
The default FastTrack configuration for the parameter will:
  • Not Treat Standard Activities as Project
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • treat_stdact_as_project=N
Utilization Metric Calculation - Include/Exclude Requested Assignments

This option determines whether the named resource utilization calculations include or exclude allocations and reserves that are in a Requested status. A default can be set using:
  • util_incl_rqsd=
Possible values are:
  • Y - Include requested allocations and reservations
  • N - Do not Include requested allocations and reservations

The default FastTrack configuration for the parameter will:
  • Include requested allocations and reservations
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • util_incl_rqsd=Y
Utilization Metric Calculation - Exclude Non-Utilized Standard Activities planned/reported on a non-working day Standard Activities can be flagged as Utilized or Non-Utilized types. This option allows non-utilized standard activities to be excluded from utilization calculations if the day that they are planned or reported on is a day that is defined as a non-working day on the Resource Calendar.

Use Case Example: Public Holiday standard activity is used to report timesheet hours, and this public holiday day is a non-working day on the resource calendar. This is relevant to customers who enforce minimum reported hours check on timesheets, requiring that non-working days are time reported.
A default can be set using:
  • hide_nusa_on_nwd=
Possible values are:
  • Y - Exclude non-utilized standard activities if they fall on a non-working day.
  • N - Include non-utilized standard activities if they fall on a non-working day.
The default FastTrack configuration for the parameter will:
  • Include non-utilized standard activities if they fall on a non-working day.
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • hide_nusa_on_nwd=N
Respect Work Status Rules for Suppress Assignments By default this report will respect the Suppress Assignments flag on the Work Status Rules, meaning that demand against work items in a Suppress Assignments work status will be excluded from the report. This parameter allows this business rule to be overridden so that the report will display demand for work in any status. A default can be set using:
  • respect_suppress_assign=
Possible values are:
  • Y - Exclude work items where the work status has the rule of suppress assignments for staffing set.
  • N - Include work items where the work status has the rule of suppress assignments for staffing set.
The default FastTrack configuration for the parameter will:
  • Exclude work items where the work status has the rule of suppress assignments for staffing set.
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • respect_suppress_assign=Y
Report Labels These options allow the following effort categorization labels to be modified. This applies only to the categorizations used in the charts. Allows the text label for the following items to be controlled:
  • Capacity = hours available to deliver work
    • Set using: cap_descr=
  • Utilization = total hours assigned to requirements/reserves/allocations
    • Set using: util_descr=
  • Availability = difference between capacity and utilization (available capacity)
    • Set using: avail_descr=
  • Overutilization = amount of assignments (utilization) that exceeds capacity
    • Set using: ovrutil_descr=
The default FastTrack configuration for the parameter will set the titles as:
  • Utilization
  • Capacity
  • Availability
  • Overutilization
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • util_descr=Utilization
  • cap_descr=Capacity
  • avail_descr=Availability
  • ovrutil_descr=Overutilization
Color of Out of Portfolio Demand

This parameter allows you to set the color used in the charts for out of portfolio assignments. A default can be set using:
  • color_oop=
Use any Hex code to define the color, see Managing Attribute & Report Colors for more detail
The default FastTrack configuration color is:
  • Amber
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • color_oop=#f1a048
Report Title Configurable report title that appears at the top of the report. The title of the report can be set using:
  • report_title=
If a longer report title is required, then create additional report_title=xxx entries and these will be concatenated together based on the order in which they are listed in the configuration structure.
The default FastTrack configuration Report Title is set to:
  • Resource Portfolio Supply and Demand
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the FastTrack Report Configuration Structure as:
  • report_title=Resource Portfolio Supply and Demand

Additional Information

The selected slicer will determine the colors of the chart stacks by respecting the attributes associated configured charting colors, if no charting colors exist the stacks will assign from default color palette.
