Configuring Report Data Table Columns

The following configuration is maintained in the Table Columns node in the Report ID branch of the RPM Report configuration Structure.
Parameter Description Configuration Options Example Settings
Table Columns This report supports the option to configure the columns displayed in the report table.  A minimum of 0 and a maximum of 10 table columns can be configured in this report.

In the main (pivoted) table, the first two columns appear between the slicer and the timesliced data.  The remaining 8 columns appear after the timesliced data.

The table columns will display in the order in which they appear in the configuration structure.
The following three table columns are included in the default RPM Configuration for the report:
  • 2. (WBS)
  • Work Status (with left text alignment)

Configuring User Parameter Defaults

The following configuration is maintained in the Parameter Defaults node in the Report ID branch of the RPM Report configuration Structure.
Parameter Description Configuration Options Default/Example Settings
Scenario This parameter is used to select the planning scenario used in the analysis from scenarios in the portfolio. Options for selection are
  • Shared Scenario
  • Other Scenarios
When a planning portfolio is created the user selects the version they want to use for capacity and the version they want for demand.  These two named versions are exposed after 'Shared Scenario in parentheses, this option for selection represents the portfolio’s default set of scenarios.

If the user creates other scenarios the result is a single version name for both demand or capacity available for selection for this parameter.

The default selection cannot be specified for this parameter.
The default selection for Scenario is
  • The Shared Scenario

Portfolio

☑ This parameter is only available when run in the My Planview Tab for Versions prior to PVE14
This parameter is used to select the portfolio only when the report is run in the My Planview tab.

When run in the Planing Tab, the portfolio is taken from the current users planning portfolio and therefore this attribute is hidden.
Options for selection are any Planning Portfolio. N/A
Measure This parameter controls the unit of measure to display in the report A default can be set using:
  • fm_measure=
Options for selection and configuration of a default value will depend on what's been configured for the chosen financial model. Possible options include:
  • currency - Currency (Non-Benefit)
  • benefit_currency - Currency (Benefit)
  • ftes - Labor (ftes)
  • hours - Labor (hours)
  • days - Labor (days)
  • units - Units
Currency (Non-Benefit) will show 
the Cost from the financials.

Currency (Benefit) will show the

benefit or revenue from the financials.

Units will show the unit value of the financial account.
The default RPM configuration is set to:
  • Currency
Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the RPM report configuration structure as:
  • fm_measure=currency
Currency This parameter controls the display currency of the report. The selection will show only the defined system currencies. It is only possible to change currencies in a multi-currency environment. 

Currency selection is manual via the parameter drop down.

Financial Category Types: This parameter determines which financial category types should be included in the financial data returned in the report.

The options available for selection are based on the Financial configuration.
By default, all categories are selected.

Accounts: This parameter determines which financial accounts should be included in the financial data returned in the report.

The options available for selection are based on the Financial configuration.

Aggregate By: This parameter controls the time slicing of data in the report.

This will impact:
  • The X-axis time slicing on the charts
  • The time slicing of the Summary Table columns
  • The time slicing of the Detail Table columns
  • The First and Last Period parameter available selections

  • month (Fiscal Month)
  • quarter (Fiscal Quater)
  • year (Fiscal Year)
The default RPM configuration timeframe is set to:

Expressed in the parameter defaults node of the RPM report configuration structure as:

First/Last Period: These parameters determined the range of data returned by the report. The range selection will default to the Planning Horizon Start and Finish dates defined in the portfolio definition of the planning portfolio.

The list of periods can be modified directly in the user parameter section of the report to include additional or less periods.

These defaults cannot be configured.

Slice Charts By: This parameter controls the slicing value used in the charts.

This will impact the attribute color slicing used in the bar charts.

Slicing will appear by the values of the selected attribute as a stacked bar chart in each chart, sectioned by color.

Colors are defined in charting color for the selected attribute.

The attributes that will be available for use as the slicer includes:

  • Demand level single select alternate structures that are enabled as Available in Configurable Charts in the Attribute Display Settings (Note - when the demand structure is work then the attribute must be a PPL Level Only attribute)
  • Demand level multi-select alternate structures with a Primary value
  • Financial Management Account Types, Accounts and Line Attributes
  • Investment Approval Status
The default selection for Slice Charts By is
  • Investment Approval

Analyze By This parameter determines the attribute used in the analysis of data.

The report will produce a single chart for each of the analyze attribute values selected in the 'Values to Analyze' parameter below.
By default, Resource Role is selected.

Values to Analyze: This parameter contains a list of the values for the attribute selected in the 'Analyze By' parameter and is used to control which values should be considered in the report.  By default all values of the 'Analyze By' attribute are selected.

Include Detail Tables: This parameter controls whether the raw detail tables for the Capacity and Demand data are included in the report. A default can be set using:
  • Include_detail_tables=
Options are:
  • Y - Yes
  • N - No

Zero Values: This determines how zero values are displayed in the demand breakdown.  Dim is a light grey - still readable, but “dimmed”.  Hide makes the text white so it disappears (but would still be in the cell if exported).  Normal does nothing A default can be set using:

Standard Activities Second Color This option works in coordination with stdact_pattern to set the second color of the pattern.  So if the customer chooses “ZigZag” – the zig zags will be the second color on the default standard activity color (which is set at the global default level.  This value can be any CSS color or Hex Color (“#nnnnnn”). A default can be set using:
  • stdact_second_color=
Either CSS color names or Hex (#123456) values can be entered

Capacity Line Color This option sets the color of the capacity line. A default can be set using:

Capacity Marker Color This option sets the color of the circular marker in the capacity.  “Auto” uses a predetermined criteria (to be fully determined) to set red, yellow or green.  Otherwise if the customer wants to ignore this functionality they can set a color (again: any CSS or hex color). A default can be set using:
  • capacity_marker_color=
Options are:
  • Auto
    Uses a predetermined criteria (to be fully determined) to set red, yellow or green.
  • CSS or Hex Color Value
    Set with any CSS or hex color and will ignore the predetermined auto criteria

Capacity Marker Size This option sets the size of the marker A default can be set using:

Report Title Configurable report title that appears at the top of the report. The title of the report can be set using:

If a longer report title is required, then create additional report_title=xxx entries and these will be concatenated together based on the order in which they are listed in the configuration structure.
