Enterprise One Q&As - November 2021 Release Webinar

Question Answer
Any plans to make the grid filter functionality (i.e. the "Enter text to filter grid..." box) work with additional component and relationship properties? Currently you can't filter on a property that has been included in this manner. We've been making incremental enhancements around additional component and relationship properties. One of those items is to extend the search field in the grid to filter the additional properties.
I know that we have been told that if a company is using PowerBI Premium Service (not Report Server) there will be a way to have PowerBI tiles in Planview Enterprise One? Yes we have a Power BI Premium Capacity tile type within Tile management where you'd be able to surface/display PowerBI.com service content. this capability was included in July 2021 Release
And will that (#2) come at the same time as the Nov 12?  Or is there something we need to do to utilize this? You do not need to wait for the November 12 Power BI Report Server update to take advantage of our Power BI Premium Capacity tile that is available in Tile Management today. This upgrade event only applies to tiles that use our internal Enterprise One Power BI instance.
Will there be a step by step migration process available to migrate our wrk/res reports to effort1B? We will provide this information in CSC documentation. That said there are some mini-demo videos that cover how to manage tiles with the new Effort01B report.
Is there still a 50 character limit to URLs? URLs can be up to 4000 characters, although we do have a bug where the default can only be set to 50 characters.  It currently doesn't have a target date but we have asked the team to investigate.
Is it possible to have Enterprise One or Projectplace to generate a URL for each project to a Configured Screen for that project? This would be useful in Projectplace templates to link back to the form for that task, for instance. Currently, nothing is slated for automatically linking back to a specific configured screen. This would be an enhancement request that we would consider as we priotize work for the Enterprise One-Projectplace Connector.
Is there a timeline [for the upcoming architectural work]?  If so how much faster will Work and Assignments and RMA be for large volumes? The December release will include a number of architectural enhancements designed to improve scalability (e.g., large jobs) and lay the foundation for longer-term performance improvements.  We don't expect performance improvements for the Work and Assignments page, however we are working on improving the load time speeds for RMA, especially when loading actuals.
On the Technopedia integration, does it retain the existing SPV and copy over the lifecycles, or does it replace the SPV with the one which has been nominated (i.e. to normalise)? Also, will it be possible to leverage the functionality without using the UI to link, such as by uploading matches via a TUX file? It will retain the existing SPV; also you will be able to load via a TUX file, but there will be another step to ensure the mapping. We are using a mapping table under the covers.
In the future will be there a possibility to update grants in mass(remove/update/add)? Similar to the financial plan download upload feature, where we could add depth and the grant name/type to remove or add to an user in an excel file and then upload it to the system. While we do plan to make investments in our APIs to support similar use-cases, nothing is currently slated for mass updates of grants.
Paul, when do you intended to start the REST API Inner Circle Program? Looking to get a focused and more 1 on 1 inner circle style set of activities kicked off beginning of 2022 as we wrap up architectural and foundational REST API work.
With Nov 2021 PowerBI server update -- what version of PBI Desktop is recommended? May 2021 is the recommended PowerBI Desktop version. we will update the download link on the CSC after Nov 12 once the update event has completed across all regions
Any news on Planview ID, and a rough idea on when it might be possible to maintain accounts centrally within there rather than the individual products? Planview ID and general consolidated user management will be getting focused attention remainder of 2021 in to 2022. We are looking to make incremental progress for E1 user management within those efforts but timing is unknown as the implications of shifting user management solely to E1 or running a hybrid model for user management has significant complexity.
