Resource Portfolio Status Widget - does this mean that the Overview page will be coming to the Resource ribbon also? | This widget will be available only on the Planview.Me and My Overview screens to start, but we are looking at adding an Overview screen to the Resource Portfolio area once there's a good amount of widgets to make that context really useful. Depending on feedback, we may find there's enough need with what we've got so far that is resource manager related. |
Sorry, new here. Is Planview.Me different from PPM Pro, AgilePlace, etc.? Thanks! | Planview.Me is our platform-wide initiative that is able to pull in data from across the Planview products. You can learn more here: https://success.planview.com/Shared_...es/Planview.Me |
Metric widget - if the tile report is not available to the user due to a feature set on it, will the metric widget honor that and therefore not be displayed in the list? | Yes, the metric widget honors any permissions and user role features that may apply to a tile's access. |
Just joining - any PlanView updates today? | Yes, many updates – the recording and deck will be available afterward as well so you can catch up on anything you missed. |
Is workflow enabled on Log book? similar to portfolio's Issue, Risk and Change Request flow? | We don’t support workflows today, no, but we are ideating on introducing a more modern and simple workflow functionality within Logbook to support use cases where we would need approvals, disapprovals, reviews and other actions. |
In Logbook, can we have attributes that can store calculated information based on other attributes within the logbook? | Custom calculations are not yet supported in Logbook, but this is on our roadmap. Today, only for logs belonging to Risk category, we have a pre-defined calculated field that shows Risk Score (product of impact and probability system attributes). |
Logbook does it do Actions part of RAID log or no we keep actions still in portfolio backlog and plan. |
You can use Logbook for RAID logging, yes! That being said, you can still keep your existing actions in portfolio backlog and plan if you choose. It’s similar a simialr answer for our CRI module… You can choose to use Logbook for use cases that meet your needs and continue to use CRI module for tracking Changes, Risks and Issues. |
'@Alex: Besides WRK14, is there any other standard report that captures logbook entries? Both for Strategy and Work logbook items. Thanks. | Initially we are focusing on WRK14 but as mentioned we are going to iterate and are planning to support STR16 with logbook to cover Strategies. |
We have not started supporting Logbook in our enterprise. we still have yet to configure the Log Types. We haven't enabled in Portfolios. Can we stop people from using it in Projectplace or is that something the Workspace owner can turn on without us? | Yes, we can turn OFF Logbook for your PorjectPlace instances. Please contact our customer care to raise a request if you wish to have Logbook disabled for ProjectPlace instances. Today, Logbook is visible for all your workspace owners to turn it on. |
can we use Logbook for new types of log items AND legacy CRI's ? What about WRK14 in that case ? | It's not ideal, but you could enable both versions of WRK14, one with Logbook and one with CRIs. You can still choose to use both Logbook and existing CRI module for the use cases that each of these support separately. |
This might be covered later, but when can we expect the Timesheet widget in Planview.Me? | We're targeting a release in Q2, and should have a big clearer target in the next update. |
Can someone please paste the 3 links from the Logbook Reporting slide into this feed for immediate access? |

At present workflow setup is available for CRI in Portfolios.. whether that workflow will be extended to the CRI in Logbook? | We don’t support workflows today, no, but we are ideating on introducing a more modern and simple workflow functionality within Logbook to support use cases where we would need approvals, disapprovals, reviews and other actions. That being said, Logbook is available as an internal reference link which can be used in all configured screens that are part of your lifecycles |
We only have Portfolios, can we still use Logbook? | Yes! As long as you are using Planview Admin and are on a supported version of Portfolios (April 2024 or newer). |
Is there a pathway to migrate CRIs to Logbook? | You can migrate data into Logbook through our built-in import from Excel functionality. This is a template based import that works per log type, per work/strategy/workspace. We intend to build a global/bulk import in the future to support importing for all log types and all projects/strategies at a time. |
I have not been able to get an answer regarding PBI Templates for like ProjectPlace. I was told we could only use in PBI desktop but then I heard we could add a ProjectPlace PBI dashboard within POrtfolios like we do for Enterprise Architecture. Wondering same now for LogBooks PBI templates. Our users want to stay in Portfolios not go out to PBI desktop to get to dashboards. Could you please confirm if and when we might be able to add ProjectPlace and LogBooks dashboards within portfolios like Enterprise Architecture? | Yes you can add both ProjectPlace and Logbook powerbi content in portfolios today! |
Will Logbook updates be independent of the Portfolio/Project Place releases. Ie: if we don't upgrade Portfolios, we sill can get new features in Logbook? (We're currently on Apr/24) |
Yes and no – Logbook is a decoupled service from Portfolios so updates are technically independent but it’s hard to guarantee that all future logbook updates will work with legacy version of Portfolios. For example, we might release a future enhancement to Logbook that is intended to interact with something not available in the April ’24 release. Of course, the best approach to ensure access to the latest and greatest from Planview will always be staying on the most current version. |
Is the WRK14 with Logbook already available or part of February release? | Yes it is! |
Will the conversion of ODATA to JSON cause any disruption or require changes in Power Query on existing reports? | PowerBI supports JSON Natively so no changes needed in the reports. |
On the Odata, can you explain what it means for depreciating the dataset pull functionality. | We are deprecating the colum set pull functionality, so this is a legacy workflow where column sets could be pulled through OData. this is rarely used since the use case for OData is through Datasets. |
WRK14 pulls in all logs, even closed. Can we expect the ability to define which log types/statuses will appear on the report in the near future? | Yes, we are working on this for the next iteration of WRK14. |
Is the OData update still using v3 URL conventions or will v4 conventions be supported? | V4 Conventions will be supported. |
Regarding the Metric Tile update - will this only show powerbi format or table still? | At the moment it will still be supporting tables only. |
Does the lane sort in AgilePlace apply that sorting to everyone looking at that specific board or is that only applied for an individual user? | It would be applied to the board, so all users would see the same sort applied to a lane. |
For the AgilePlace Copilot actions, do we need a Copilot license or is this available to anyone? | This will likely require a Copilot license. We can enable it for you now at no cost while it’s in still the early access period. |
what is the timeline for the list view of AgilePlace? | We’re targeting early Q2. |
For AgilePlace List View, is that exportable to excel or PDF? | Yes, it will be exportable to excel initially. We will explore the need for an export to PDF. |
The updates to Planview Adamin for multi-tenant & domain, does that have any requirement on what version of Portfolios we are on? | This functionality is all part of Planview Admin, so any portfolios version that works with Admin will work with multi-tenant users in Planview Admin. |
How do we manage access in the Planview Admin for multiple products, do we have any utility to do that? | That will be available in March 2025 (planned) with the Top-Down User Management release. |
When will IdeaPlace be added to Planview Admin? | Yes, IdeaPlace as the new TeamTap iteration will be available in Planview admin and should be available in the new few months. |
Does top-down user management include SCIM? | Not with the planned March release but this is being considered for a future release. |
For the top-down user management in Planview Admin, can we move our resource integration file upload from Portfolios into Planview Admin? | Yes, Planview Admin does have a user import tool that can both add and update users in bulk. |
Does the Top-Down User Management allow admins to create user accounts for ProjectPlace without them having to do the registration? | Planview Admin will move user creation to a singular porcess managed by admins in Planview admin to creating users. When connected to Planview admin, and using Top Down User Management we will disable the ability to create users in the connected products, so the registration process will also be disabled. |
Will rich text be made available for long text fields in Portfolios, if yes, when? | We do plan to include this eventually but do not have it as a roadmap item yet |
I'd like to get information on Admin training times and prices. Thank you! | Most of our Virtual Public Training Classes are held from 9am - noon central time. Please go to university.planview.com for details and pricing. |
