Keystroke Steps: Work with Ribbon and Tiles
Concept
The Work Portfolio View summarizes information about the selected portfolio (Figure 1 shows typical tiles found on the Work Portfolio View, but not all types). It provides a central location to quickly get updated on the status of items in the portfolio by means of tiles.
- Search for the relevant Work portfolio >
> Portfolio View.
- The context bar displays the name of the current portfolio and the name of the screen. Select Back to return to a previous screen, select the star icon to select or deselect the portfolio as a favorite, or select the drop-down arrow to see the menu choices from the Requests Menu Action section and do something else with the portfolio (Figure 2).
- The ribbon contains tiles that provide easy access to chart or table data that is related to the Portfolio View (Figure 1). Select any tile to view the data it links to. Numbers within tiles tell you how many items are in the table that will display when the tile is selected, such as requests in the portfolio, new requests, active requests, etc. Hover over a tile to see a description of the report it displays. The tiles that appear on the ribbon are said to be in the Main View of the ribbon.
- Any configurable table tile with
displayed will not show a count until you click it to load the data.
- Select the minus sign at the right of the ribbon to collapse the ribbon and display only tile names. Select the button on the top right of the ribbon to collapse or expand the ribbon. The button is labeled minus (–) or plus (+) depending on whether the ribbon is expanded or collapsed (Figure 2).
Click to replay the animation below.
Example: Collapse and expand the ribbon in My Overview.
- Select the more... tile to view any tiles that do not fit on the ribbon at the current browser size, as well as other tiles and options. Tiles configured to display when you select the more… tile are said to be in the More View of the ribbon.
- Use the Column Set dropdown to select and configure column sets).
- Use the Analyze tile to create a configurable chart.
Clickin the upper right of many report tiles to open a report in its own window, so you can continue to work in the system while reviewing the report.
Tip
Figure 3 shows the types of tiles available.
Tip
If you select a tile by selecting more… that tile will replace the rightmost tile in the ribbon until you either select another tile from the More View or log off and log back in. When you log back in, the tile order will either be the default set by the administrator or the custom configuration you set up using the Manage button.
