TPM – Deployed Technology Analysis

Description

A good starting point for Technology Portfolio Management if the enterprise priority is an urgent need to identify and address risk in the deployed technology estate.
  • The data and analytics will be richer if the TPM – Standards Catalog Mgmt solution is implemented first, but that is not a prerequisite.
  • Establish the inventory of deployed technologies, and load their manufacturer lifecycles to identify technologies at risk due to end-of-life or obsolescence. (We highly recommend using BDNA Technopedia manufacturer lifecycle data, and integration with a CMDB).
  • Focus on software, hardware, or both, analyzing the deployed footprint for opportunities for optimization and consolidation.

  • The enterprise knows the types and counts of software/hardware deployed, enabling analysis of the deployed footprint for opportunities for optimization and consolidation.

  • The enterprise can understand the extent and impact of deployed technologies at end-of-life or obsolete, and use this information in performing health/risk analysis of the IT estate.
