Adding Insights Reports/Dashboards on any page

We have had many requests to allow Reports/Dashboards to be visible to a unique set of users. The solution presented here maintains the security and integrity of the data across our Spigit clients.

How it Works

The Insights dashboard inside the Page/Dashboard/Insights is designed to log in any user with access to the Dashboard page. This access is set using the Site Editor and responds to any role recognized in the Spigit system. The default is configured to only show this dashboard to the Report Analyst and Administrator role.

The Insights dashboard itself is pre-coded into a specific Insights widget. This widget is pre-built and configured to act as the login point for any user being granted access to the page. Insights relies upon this security configuration to limit the access to the dashboards out of the box. This is the standard use case for all customers.

When wanting to embed an Insights widget into any other editable widget, the data is controlled using the pre-configured access control. In reality, this means that if a user has not been authenticated against the /Page/Dashboard and checked for the correct role by the Spigit system, they will not be able to access the Insights dashboard.
