Financial Rollups (Computed Fields)

The project Rollups section contains out-of-the-box computed fields that display calculated results from various areas of PPM Pro, such as forecasts/actuals from the project Financials section, timesheet actuals, and project budgets (and task-level estimates and actuals). This topic covers the rollup fields that relate to project financial entries.

Expense Rollups

As mentioned above, values from the project financial section feed the Expenses section of the project Rollups page. Note the following:

  • Cash inflows (revenue entries) and outflows (expense entries) only will affect the Expenses section (budget, time not impacted)
  • Expense = outflow
  • Revenue = inflows

NOTE: For existing customers who are are transitioning to project-level expenses and have hybrid projects that use task-level for existing expenses and project-level for new expenses, please note that both methods will still continue to feed the rollup fields that are defined below. For example, for hybrid projects that have both project- and task-level expenses, the Total Expense Cost field is the sum of all forecasted outflow entries (from project-level expenes) + all task estimated expenses.

Project-level expenses deal only with inflow revenue and outflow cost.

To mimic task billable expenses, use a pair of forecasts - one inflow for revenue and one outflow for cost.
