Planview Chat Bots and Robots (AI and RPA)

AI vs. RPA: What's the Difference?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the end-to-end automation of business processes in a self-service design. One common example of AI in action is a chat bot. Many companies now use chat bots on their websites, with these virtual assistants using a guided or intuitive conversation to help customers accomplish tasks by interacting only with the chat bot.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA), on the other hand, uses structured inputs and logic to automate repetitive processes and does not attempt to mimic a conversation. Common examples of RPA are attended robots, which are run manually by a user, and unattended robots, which are scheduled to run automatically.
